So I started playing donkey kong country expecting it to play just like a 2d mario game but the monkeys handle different to mario and so I find the game more difficult.
I'm guessing the yoshi island game plays differently too.
Maybe I'll stick to just mario.
I mean fair assumption, but donkey Kong country games have always handled differently then Mario.
As for yoshi island it’s much more of a traditional platformer like donkey Kong, but it plays like yoshi game so look at a trailer or two or some gameplay and see if you would like it. Because they do feel different.
DKC absolutely is more difficult than Mario, but it's worth sticking with if you don't mind a challenge. Yoshi's Island handles differently again but it's more on par with Mario difficulty-wise, so give that a go if you want a change. But if you want to stick with Mario for now that's fine, he's the most popular platforming character for a reason!
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
@gcunit By Yoshi games do you mean having a child scream at you when you get hit so you run around trying to calm the brat down like in Yoshi's Island (also similarly featured in Yooka Laylee) or the more casual chill approach like in Yoshi's Woolly World?
Yoshi's Island is well worth giving a go. It's the best platformer on Super Nintendo, at least in my opinion. I assume you have Switch Online so you might as well try it. The difficulty curve is quite gentle, it doesn't get too hard unless you try to 100% it.
Wooly world is so fun and nostalgic for me, definitely recommend it.
Space and Games are similar. Space is endless and new stuff is out there waiting to be discovered. Games are always being made but the creativity is different from one game to another and so many more ideas still haven't been imagined or created yet. (That came out better than expected lol)

I mean, yeah, they're not Mario! lol!
What you need to know is that you can switch between Donkey and Diddy, provided you have both of them, and they work differently. Donkey can pick up barrels above his head, meaning he can protect himself from things coming from above him, whilst Diddy can't pick up things that high, and they're in front of him, meaning that he's protecting his front. Diddy can run a little faster than Donkey, but Donkey has the weight that can allow him to pop out underground secrets.
Give the DKC games a chance though, they're fantastic games!
