Topic: Boktai!!!

i'm about to start playing boktai 1 and i'd like to know about the game. all i really know is it's be hideo kojima and it uses the solar sensor. does it have any similarities to MGS? is it even any good?

Boktai is amazing, especially at this time of year. It's a combination of stealth and action, so in that regard it has some small similarities to Metal Gear Solid, but there's so much more to it. In fact, one of the first gaming articles I ever wrote was about Boktai.

I remember this game, the one were you play the game outside in the sun, right?

It's very fun but the sun sensor doesn't exactly work, so I ended up playing with my GBA upside-down. if you have a DS though, you should get Lunar Knights. It is a (sequel) to Boktai, and if you really want to, you can put Boktai in the GBA slot and us that as a sun catcher.

Lunar Knights was okay... didn't really start getting fun/interesting until the very end though. I remember liking the weapon upgrade system and absolutely hating the space battles, lol.

i was kinda interested in picking up the first Boktai game until i saw that its sequels (which had plots i would've so been down with playing through) were never localized outside Japan.

only boktai 3 was never localized

whatever it was then, the one that never made it over here was the one that sounded the most interesting to me. :3

I miss that game, was fun using the solar sensor (...until I found out that I could just use the black light...plasma ball...thing)...Lunar Knights was okay, but wasn't as fun. Wish they would bring that game back and use a sensor somehow...

Boktai was great. I haven't gotten around to playing the second game, though. I'm waiting to play it next month, when it'll be consistantly warmer weather. I loved Lunar Knights, too, though it's very different.
