For some reason, the mood struck me to play Strider & Strider 2 for PlayStation One. I'd almost forgotten how excellent they are! The original arcade version is an all-time classic of the late 80s, with superb game play, graphics and music.
The sequel, Strider 2 also hit the arcades and shortly thereafter the PlayStation. It didn't get much attention on either format, but it's a great game in it's own right! Superb graphics for a PlayStation game, nice cut scenes, and exploration via wall climbing is just FUN!
Anyone else love the Strider games and wish Capcom would give us a sequel already? What is it with Capcom having trouble counting to three? That's a semi-inside old Street Fighter joke. Of all series out there long overdue for a sequel, I think this is the one I'd most like to see! BRING BACK STRIDER HIRYU, CAPCOM!!!

lots of love for Strider over here, i even got Run Saber for SNES which was supposedly put out by a couple of its makers. and ps2 Capcom Collections Vol 2. the winter stage music is in my head 24-7 and is driving me crazy

Strider was one of my favorite games when I was really young (despite sucking terribly at it) and is probably my favorite game I never got to play again after the 90s. I saw an LP of it a while ago and it brought back so many awesome memories.
Strider is a great game, definitely one of the best platformers on Genesis, controls take time to get used to, even I can't fully master Strider's controls.

Darkstalkers the fighting game, played it in arcades without much attention however the characters are nice and i have had this idea of making a game called "Fright Fight" featuring characters such as Jason Vorhees, Chucky, Pinhead (Hellraiser), Micheal Myers, the character from Jeepers Creepers, Wrong Turn and such. I know it would never happen but i can imagine

I'd like to think that eventually Capcom will release more arcade games on VC, including Strider, but I don't know. Would be silly to release that string of classics they did during December and January, then just quit outright. Surprised NES Strider (which is different in gameplay and storyline... no Grandmaster to be found) hasn't been released on VC, as it's a good game in it's own right! If you're interested, Strider arcade can be found on Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 for PS2 & XBox, Capcom Classics Collection Remixed for PSP and Strider 2 for PSOne (includes Strider & Strider 2... though Strider is on the Strider 2 disc and vice versa, LOL).
