Hey everyone did you know there are songs and tv references in videogames. So far I come with a list:
Earthbound: The Beatles song Yesterday
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Gates To Infinity: Carly Rae Japsen Call Me Maybe
Donkey Kong Country 3 and Golden Sun The Lost Age: I would have gotten away with it to if hadn't been for you meddling kids from Scooby Doo.

The Ace Attorney series is stuffed with references to songs, TV shows, movies and other games, way too many for me to remember and list them all here.

Thankfully, TV Tropes has a whole page dedicated to Ace Attorney shout outs.

Not too long ago I noticed Rayman Legends has some song references, lol

Originally one of the items in A Link to the Past was named the M.C. Hammer, quite obviously named after the briefly popular rapper.
(and the description may or may not have referenced another '80s western pop song, Love Shack)
Even if he was still popular by the time the game made it to the west, NoA decided it better to change that.

Though they still left the Hamburger Helper mascots in the game.
(that thing was all over TV in 1991)

Megaman x5 freakin' named the bosses after Guns n' Roses members. Lol

Killer Seven has parts named after songs by the smiths.
Biohock Infite has a bunch of alternate universe movies and books
