ZombiU is a great game. Very interested to see how this port holds up, I'd imagine not too well as the GamePad usage and the versus mode were the best things about the game.
But yeah I'm glad that this can be taken as Zombi failing and that I can get this without giving Ubisoft any money. Ubisoft can take their '700,000+ sales of a new IP at the launch of a new (and ultimately soon to be failing) console is bad' and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. It still amazes me how stupid these companies think we are.
@Peek-a-boo: Jesus. I've never played a Ratchet and Clank game before, but this new one looks amazing. I really wish we could get more AAA family-friendly games like this on the PS4.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Grumblevolcano: that is the worst case scenario, no? Well literally everything about this is still speculation so I'm not going to judge until Sony come out and confirm that they're giving the middle finger to the 30 million people who bought their console.
I am starting to think that this year's E3 is guaranteed to be a blast, in more ways than one.
''It will have a 4k blu ray player and will upscale games that are not natively 4k.''
I'm not saying this information is false, but ''will upscale games that are not natively 4k'' does imply that the PS4 has games running natively at 4K (but downscaled to 1080p?). Which isn't true, nor are we getting games that run natively at 4K anytime soon.
Huh, it seems that the whole LEGO game rumours for PS+ was (unfortunately) false, and we get a mature rated game that is not as good as it is on the Wii U instead.
Lots of kids, teenagers and adults like to play LEGO games Sony!
This whole PS4K sounds perfectly fine one day, then not so good the next.
I have no qualms with allowing the games to be in a better/higher resolution without sacrificing the performance for the original current PlayStation 4, but not in the way that 'Hyrule Warriors: Legends' is like between the original and new 3DS, as Grumblevolcano pointed out above.
I am quite happy to carrying on playing games and ignore what are mostly rumours at this moment in time.
@Peek-a-boo: just to take you back t rumours for a second, what were the Lego games that were suspected to be PS+ games this month? Just that the Lego game series(s) are a weird one for me as I only really like Star Wars from the franchises they've done, though I'd be more than willing to give the Marvel and Batman games a go if they were given as PS+ games, I'll refrain from buying them just in case the rumour has any grain of truth and they're given sometime soon.
@TheLastLugia: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and The LEGO Movie were the two LEGO games that were rumoured to be a part of the PS+ line up this month but, unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.
I believe those two LEGO games were the first two LEGO games available on the PlayStation 4, and are over two and a half years old too, hence them being in contention for PS+.
Maybe next month, hopefully!
This months selection (on the PlayStation 4) is very ho-hum:
Zombi and Dead Star, the latter of which sounds somewhat interesting. We shall see.
Yeah it did. Kinda ironic how the Wii U version is still the best selling version, despite Ubisoft's complaints about low sales.
I love it. Those old articles where the people who made the game talked about how Ubisoft was reacting to them developing it were always mostly negative or unsure, they didn't like the project then and now they resent it for doing the best in terms of sales. It's like it proves even more they have an unnatural, unnecessary hate for the WiiU that they feel they need to flaunt like no one else.
Isn't France the biggest market for NoE? Maybe that's why Ubisoft thought they need to be so vocal about it.
Lol I realized im in the PS4 thread and forgot what I was going to say about PS4 now
@WebHead: It seems strange, but I don't expect it to be much of an upgrade; If you already own a PS4, there will be little reason to buy this new model. It'll be for those who either buy every Sony console day one anyway or for those who are looking to get into VR. If there's a system on the market that's VR-ready and offers more than the original PS4 for roughly the same price? It definitely makes sense to release such a device before PSVR. I'm not sure if an early 2017 release would make a big difference. Better get it out so that people won't complain that they bought an ''old'' PS4 for VR, whilst Sony was planning on releasing a new model soon after.
I'm just wondering how Sony fanboys will react when it's clear (it already is) that Sony's VR is so much more inferior than Rift and especially Vive in its hi tech and experience. They are usually in the position to say they have the best stuff (also when it was never even true) and now they keep saying "ours is cheaper" lol.
@dumedum: I think it's pretty clear that PSVR isn't going to deliver the same experience as the Rift or the Vive and everyone knows that. Sony is offering a device that's more affordable. They kinda have to, because I don't think it would've worked out if they sold it for $600-800. So, I'm not sure who you're talking about, if you look hard enough you will always find some crazy people here and there pretending that the stuff they own is the best on the market; The fact that they own a certain gaming console is irrelevant in that case.
I'm just wondering what dumedum is even doing in this thread, considering he celebrates every Wii U 'victory' when they (rarely) pull ahead in front of the PlayStation 4 in Japan.
The PS VR is an affordable way of playing in a virtual reality space.
I don't have the time or money to spend over a £1000 on a super computer just to run the games available for the Rift or/and Vive, as well as the higher cost of those latter two too.
£249 for a standalone PlayStation 4 and £349 for the PS VR bundle is a tiny bit dearer than the price of the Rift on its own, and that's great!
@Peek-a-boo:
I wondered the samething, gotta love fanboys who call out other fanboys... But as far as VR goes, I have no interest in any of it, though if that were to ever change I'd want the best experience possible. It's obvious PSVR will not be the best experience and in a way I wish Sony would've taken that money that is being spent on that thing and put into more first party exclusives for the PS4 itself.
@Gamer83:
I have a friend that has tried all the big names in VR and he actually said PSVR was one of the best. But he is kinda a Sony fan recently, which might mean he was blinded by the brand name lol. But still, I have heard PSVR is pretty good and one of the cheapest ways into VR.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@DefHalan:
Interesting. I don't have too many friends who are into the whole VR thing to be honest, so don't know anybody who has much experience with these headsets I'm just going off what I've seen and considering the prices and hardware it would seem Sony would be on the lower end. Doesn't mean it can't have the better games. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
@Gamer83:
My buddy was telling me some technical stuff behind it saying how the screen Sony uses are better than most other screens... I forget why. Something about a clearer more actuate picture quality, if that makes any sense. My worry with the PSVR is the power in the PS4. Will it be powerful enough to run the games people want in VR at a solid framerate? PC hardware is customize-able and could easily change settings to reach that. PS4 isn't but developers working on that have the added benefit of everyone having the same hardware, meaning they can change their game to run on the PS4 as good as possible, just at what point do we run into the same issues consoles have now, where higher resolutions get more priority over frames. With VR frames are pretty important.
and there I go on a rant. sorry.

@DefHalan:
I think the power of the current PS4 hardware is why we're hearing rumors of a 'PS4K.' Sony has put a lot on its plate with all this stuff and I'm not sure how it'll manage it. I wish the company would go back to just focusing on one thing like in the PSone and 2 eras.

Sorry, next time I'll ask for your permission to join the thread. What a backhanded way to post your complaints though and your admittance you were totally wrong. You said that PS4 will surpass the Wii U in total sales in Japan like in 1 month or something. Of course it's usually outselling the Wii U, the Wii U is in its end, but amazingly, it still hasn't surpassed it in total sales (contrary to the rest of the world), I think it still has like half a million copies to catch up, so you were dead wrong as usual, oops.
You seem to be forgetting that the Wii U was available to buy nearly fifteen months before the PlayStation 4 was released, hence the current sales gap, therefore any Wii U (sales) victory is hardly worth 'celebrating'.
I just had an issue with you coming into this thread (that you never venture into) just to say that because the PS VR is affordable, it must be worthless compared to the other two niche and overwhelmingly expensive VR choices.
I especially like how you chose to ignore my perfectly logical and sane reason(s) for why people are happy with PS VR. It is going to be the most enviable piece of technology for both kids and adults alike come Christmas time.
