Love how NL covers every little handheld PC, but Apple has the biggest ability to hurt Nintendo and last week they dropped a couple of interesting announcements for iPhone 15 Pro users: Resident Evil Village, RE 4 Remake and Assassin's Creed Mirage will all be playable by those phones.

Next year with the iPhone 16, the A17 Bionic will be able to play these games and is an option for mobile phone users to play. Along with the iPad and Apple TVs (equipped with A17). I mean, I expect to hurt the Steam Deck and other portable PCs in the short term. I think Nintendo will be fine, but this post in direct criticism to NL, why no stories on this announcement? There are more users of iOS devices than Switch, PlayStation and Xbox combined, right? iOS users even outnumber Windows. If it came to an Android handset, would it warrant coverage? I don't understand why Switch owners would be interested in portable PCs over similar simple devices such as an iPhone, iPad or Android handset?

While we have covered handheld PC devices like Steam Deck in the past — and occasionally showcase posts from our sister site Time Extention (https://www.timeextension.com/reviews/aya-neo-pocket-air-the-new-handheld-emulation-king) on the homepage — that's generally related to their effectiveness as emulation devices to revisit Nintendo's back catalogue, and how they compare to an official product like the Switch running games that are also available on the eShop.

Of those three games you mention, only one is playable on Switch via a Cloud Version, so this doesn't seem hugely relevant to Nintendo fans, nor is it really (as you acknowledge) a 'threat' to Switch. We may touch on it in the future, especially as more details of 'Switch 2' are revealed. But right now it just doesn't feel relevant enough.

I mean, this is pretty big. You can play the full game right on your phone, it's the same version on PC and console too. You guys have covered the ROG Ally and even the rumors around Lenovo's unit too, not just the Steam Deck. I get it, it wasn't newsworthy to you, but IGN had it covered everywhere. With some Switch comparisons since you can dock your iPhone into a controller cradle. I mean, this will run RE 4 Remake and RE Village lightyears better than the Deck and better battery life.

All I am saying, if you're going to cover like the sky is falling on Nintendo, why not some consistency? Apple could snap their fingers and own all of portable gaming, iOS and its offshoots can provide an easy enough experience where everything just works like a console.

Not really interested in RE and getting Mirage for PS5. They'll need to do better than that to get me to open my wallet.

Not sure Nintendo and its fanbase care about three games exclusive to Apple's $1,000.00 device (minimum). At least the Deck and ROG Ally are more reasonably priced by comparison. Besides, it'll be interesting to see how poorly this version of these games will be received considering Capcom are asking $60 a pop. $60?! On a platform best known for shovelware, gatcha games, and f2p trash.

Best of luck with that, Capcom.
