Well, if you are going to calculate all of that, it'd be very difficult to figure out how long it takes "exactly" to beat the game since some might use more time in towns than others, and there's no timer for those segments.
Well I didn't mean exactly, but even so it's amazingly short aint it.

Well, if you download the PSP demo from the link above you can play two level, one small map, and one big map. The Smaller map only has a town and the Dark Lord Castle, no Godess statue though, so you have to defeat the Darklord in under 30 seconds. The larger map has 2 Towns, both have Godess Statues in them, a Troll cave, a Mid Boss and the Dark Lord castle. As long as you have the money, you can buy time, however each time you buy more time, the next time you visit a town it'll cost 100 gold more than last time. From what I've seen from screen shots of the Japanese full version, there's more than just 2 maps, and there's special maps made for co-op multipler too.
Plus the actual Yuusha 30 PSP game has other game play mechnanics other than running around a map and leveling up, if you look at the GT videos for Yuusha 30, there are other chapters Such as a Princess who has to save her kingdom from on comming doom in 30 seconds where she has to go out and shoot monsters with arrows. Another Chapter show a Dark Lord who goes renegade when he discovers that when the 30 second Doomsday finishes, his pets will die, so he goes against the other Dark Lords. This plays a lot like a Tower Defence game, except the cursor in a character, and the towers are monsters that can move as you go off and kill off Humans that try to kill you and your pets, and fight off other Dark Lords, all in under 30 seconds.
With all that, it'll take you quite a bit more than a few hours to beat every map in every chapter.
Yeah. And didn't he say you had to find thingys that gives you more time?
Yes you have to find a Godess Statue in a town, thing is the most ammount of time you can have is 30 seconds, but yes, each map can take longer than 30 seconds, but the clock will never go higher than 30 seconds.
Actually I think they're longer than the games they used to have in arcades in the eighties. I remember the longest time I ever spent on an eighties game was 20 minutes on Pac-Man.
The game is coming Stateside in September under the name "Half Minute Hero". Like I've said, I still prefer "30 Second Hero", oh wells, but it looks like I got a PSP game to import
I keep running out of time....LOL I dont know what the heck Im freakin doin in this game apparantly.
What are you playing, the PC game, or the PSP demo. If you're playing the PC game it's more brutal IMO over the PSP version, at least in the PSP version the timer stops when you enter a town, plus you earn the full 30 second left on the timer rather than just buying 10 seconds.
If you're playing to PSP version though, keep an eye out for the towns, try to level up as possible but give yourself enough time and money to earn time.
uh, you don't attack. You manage your character, but all of the attacking is automatic. All you can do is choose to use an item (healing items are all that's in the demo iirc) in battle, the rest is automatic.
It's an absolutely brilliant game from everything I've seen, it kills me that people are going to see it and think it's a simple, crappy, short game and judge it on that basis, without understanding it.
PSP demo....Some of the attack buttons dont seem to have a point or actually dont have much of a attack power i guess is what I mean.
Well yeah, the battles are automactic, the only button you use durring the game is Square to eat herbs, the other buttons are used when you're in town to either talk or buy things...
