I'm buying another PlayStation 3 soon and I need recommendations for terrible games. I was thinking Damnation for sure and a lot of people recommended me Call of Juarez, Lair and Final Fantasy 13. But I need more.

Iron Man, Amy, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire. Also Sonic '06 if you haven't experienced its terribleness yet. Oh, and Dead Space Ignition, Last Rebellion, Hyper Dimension Neptunia, Cross Edge, and Warriors of Troy. Beware the under $10 category in the PS3 section...

I have had $10 in my PSN wallet for like two weeks, the only games that have peaked my interest are $15.

I'm thinking about just getting the Mass Effect 2 Arrival DLC, it's $7. Has anyone played it?

Hyper Dimension Neptunia is bad? I'm writing down all of these because I've been told most of these are godawful. Which is good in this case. lol

I actually haven't played that one. I just know it's made by the same people who made The Last Rebellion and Cross Edge, and from every review I've read, it's no better. Bad humor, bad story, bad gameplay. The works.

Has anyone had trouble playing cross-platform co-op on Portal 2? I tried to play with my friend on it but we get kicked before the game starts, saying "server table error" on his pc end. I'm thinking it might be because the PC version was updated recently, while the PS3 version hasn't.

You also haven't played Warriors of Troy, which is one of the better Warriors games in the humble opinion of someone who has played it, and every other Warriors game this generation to compare it with.
Hyperdimension Neptunia isn't a patch on the sequel. The gameplay is a little strange by JRPG standards, and it takes a while to wrap your head around how it works. Once you do get into it, it's a little too simple for its own good.

That said it's a lot of silly fun, in a very Moe sense of the word. If you can't laugh at that style of humour than this isn't the game for you.

But bad game? Nah. That's just critics and people who haven't played the game doing their usual thing on half truths, assumptions, and the overwhelming arrogance that the only way to make fun games is to copy the westerners do.

Also it's made by Idea Factory, who also produce Record of Agarest War games, which are very good, and Hyperdimenson Neptunia mk2, which is also a genuinely good game. Calling them out for their bad games is like saying Nintendo is crap because Nintendo made that silly Hercules RPG.

Actually, I had a warriors fan for a friend once and I played his copy, along with Dynasty Warriors 6. Disliked them both, but Warriors of Troy was much worse. Terrible story, and the gameplay was much slower and more boring, with more of a focus on cinematic kills, which got old pretty quickly. Like a dumbed down God of War - and I didn't think it was possible to dumb that game down anymore.

Also, I cannot express enough how tiring your hypocritical criticisms of western reviewers are. Once you get off your high horse, maybe people will actually take you seriously.

I am sorry, but i disagree with what mickey said.
Cross Edge is by no means a bad game. The combat is a little confusing in the beginning, but when you get used to it i'm pretty sure you will enjoy it(considering that you appreciate the genre). The game is somewhat hard, but rewarding. In the graphics department it could be better, of course. And with all of that, it has a particular humor. It's cheap at the moment so it's a plus.

If you are searching for terrible games (why?), pick up Venetica, you will love it. Probably the worst game i've played in my life ( tied with shadow the hedgehog).

I will fight you, Kinioka. There was no forgiving how boring and grindy that gameplay was, or how terrible the story was. I got it because it was cheap abd after a few hours, I threw it in the garbage. I haven't hated a game this much in years. I almost missed that feeling.

Well, the story was just Troy. So if it's a bad story, then that's hardly the game's fault. That's the material it's taken from. Most people tend to find that particular epic pretty compelling, btw.

Not that you have to enjoy it, but it might be good to qualify where you're coming from when you say it's a "bad game." I'll agree with you that the gameplay is slower, but one person's "slow" is another person's "high impact." I liked that there was weight behind the combat. It felt chunkier and more brutal than the graceful swordplay of most Warriors games.

Find me a single example of a western game I have criticised on the basis of it being a western game, and I will agree with you that I'm a hypocrite.

I don't. I take western games as they come, for both their good and their bad. Once western critics learn that there's no point criticising a Moe game for the simple fact that it's a Moe game, then I'll stop criticisng them.

If there was a formal education for criticism, the first lesson in the first class would be that a critic shouldn't criticise a game on the basis that it doesn't appeal to their personal sense of fun. It's that elementary, and yet that is what I see over and over again when western critics look at Japanese games.

Sorry, meant terribly presented story. It's good at its base, they just ham it up, IIRC.

Criticism doesn't work that way.

That's part and parcel for the Warriors series. I can't think of a single game in the series which has good voice acting in English.

Criticism doesn't work that way.

When I lecture on criticism to students that's exactly what I lecture. Criticism that is simply a long personal rant is useless criticism. While a critic can never be objective, and shouldn't even try to be, said critic should also never forget that not everything in the world is made for them to enjoy.

Kinioka

That's where our opinions differ. I did that with pleasure and I've never felt that what i was doing was boring.
About the story, well...for a crossover game, what were you expecting, really?
I don't know how hyped you were when you played the game for the first time, but i think you are being too radical with that statement.
You probably have the same problem that some journalists have...lack of time and patience, to discover what a game like this one has to offer. I had fun with it!

If you haven't played a Warriors title in the current gen era, I implore you to do so! I enjoyed the series in the past generation, just as I enjoyed titles like Chaos Legion, but I tired of the series back then. In this current generation, Omega Force has taken complete use of the systems' power and have gotten the strategy element of the game's down better than ever. I don't like the Warriors series now, I love the Warriors series.

I'm also loving Sniper Elite V2. The game can truly turn the intensity way up. I had this fifteen minute fight for my life where I was laying traps for enemies rushing up three flights of stairs to my sniping point, while sniping enemies as quickly and efficiently as I could from the far back of the room, through a window — allowing me to knock off a few as they run up the spiraling staircase. Really immersive title, and the sniping just feels great!

Oh, Trine 2 is BEAUTIFUL!!!
