Well, it looks like PSN is still down. I'm glad that I'm not the only person experiencing a problem logging in. I was worried that my account got hacked or something. At least now I know what is going on. I wonder if this is a hacker related issue or something else. Hopefully Sony will fix this soon. I don't mind playing my games offline but I'm itching to play some Dungeon Hunter Alliance or Clash of Heroes online.

That is hysterical, and one of the best things I've ever seen published on that site!

So, I passed on Portal 2 for now - I'll Gamefly it later - and snagged Two Worlds II for $30, and guess what, I updated the game even though PSN is down. Yeah, I know that it doesn't use PSN, but it did take me by surprise that it actually updated anyways.

So yea My ps3 phat died over the weekend. I lost all my trophies and forgot to back up most of my game saves. So i lost everything . It is quite depressing to lose years worth of gaming stuff, all my online shooters mainly.
But so happends i had 400 dollars extra saved for a long time and now im looking at a brand new ps3 slim 320 gig, with move and playstation eye. But my question is can i use my same user name and password again for the main account from my old ps3 on the slim? Did i lose all my friends on my friends list? i need to re add everyone if so.

The only thing you lost were your game-saves man! Just sign into you account on your new Slim and all your trophies - since your last sync - will sync onto your new PS3 and all of your online shooter stats are saved to the servers of the game providers, so again you didn't loose any of that. You will want to call Sony and let them know what happened and get your account deactivated off that PS3 though.

I'm wanting to trade my other Phat in for a Slim today as well, but the flipping PSN service is still down and I can't deactivate all my accounts off of it!

@odd69: I'm sorry to hear that dude It broke my heart when that happened to me. What slappy says rings true, although it sucks badly to lose your save files. Hope you enjoy your new slim.

I was able to update Dungeon Hunter to 1.02 today when I hopped on to play single as well! I wonder how that works exactly?

Still waiting on PSN....It's weird--I went through a period of like a month a couple months ago where I rarely/never used PSN....now that it's down it's the only thing I wanna do

Awww man, I feel your pain. I'm sure you'll love the new Slim model once you have it but it sucks about your game saves. Your trophies, friend's list, and online rankings will be intact but be sure to deactivate your account like Slapshot mentioned.

@Odd: I am truly sorry to hear about your PS3 Phat dying out on you. That really does suck man. I still have my Phat and I hope that it will last and not suffer the same fate as yours. I considered getting a Slim but I'm not ready to give up the PS2 backwards-compatibility, that and I recently installed a 500GB hard drive into it too.

@Slapshot: You had problems with your 3DS? Same here. I sent my system to Nintendo a week ago and chances are that I will be getting a new system with a new FC. I will have to re-add you and a few other friends. I'll post my new code when I get my 3DS back.

@Wolf... Thankfully one of my friends is a manager at a game shop and I was able to just swap mine out. Haven't had a problem with this one yet, though it seems most everyone is having issues with their 3DS!

I come back from vacation with PSN down? Oh man. I was getting an error all week anyway.

Yea the slim is much better, the design is nicer too. I decided to get it the phat models are too faulty. I dont recommend buying one, trading it in for slim would be better in the long run or just for piece of mind. I may repair the phat and sell it depending how much it cost.

As for PSN outage go to playstation universe website and get the scoop, seems the servers were damaged and dev accounts hacked

Actually it was top Sony Executives accounts that were hacked, and Sony themselves have pulled the plug on the entire system. As of this morning, we should see PSN come back online in the next day or two when they get the holes patched up and finish up the investigation. Again it was a branch of the OpSony for Anon, which they are trying to say they are innocent, but when you a spread out unorganized group, they have no real control. They started this whole ball rolling, and I expect to see Sony drop the hammer on these hackers when this is all said and done. I hope so!

is it back up in Europe, I read it was. Japan as well.
