I finally got to try 3D Dot Game Heroes tonight. I haven't had any trouble seeing stuff thus far, but even if I did, it'd only take a glance at the in-game map to see where paths were.

No, my problem is the bleeping Dash Circuit minigame. After half an hour of practice, the best I could do was 20.02 seconds. The goal is beating 20 seconds, mind. SO not right!

I learned today that failing a 20-second time trial over and over and over again for half an hour pisses me off WAAAAAAAY more than failing a 20-minute time trial roughly ten minutes in repeatedly. I'd have rather spent the time honing my skills for Eggmanland in Sonic Unleashed.

@waltz... aye, how is Vidzone? I've tried downloading it but its region protected. The Japan video things are just strange lol. VidZone is one service id like to try. I myself like options. The movie deal for me is highly overpriced as I live on the outskirts of a large city and I can get BD for a few bucks more than the download prices. For some its great so no complaints from me.

@stuff... I got it in 18 I think, maybe wrong. Use theDPad. It helps, as well as you will get a upgrade later that will help.

Ah, yea, I knew you could transfer from PS3 to PSP, but that is asking a lot just to make the format sufficiently portable since not everyone with one system necessarily has the other.

@Slappy: Of course I was using the D-pad. I didn't understand how to intentionally stop without crashing at the time, which I've read would help my time if done correctly. Given that I crashed twice when I got the 20.02 time, I'd say that's likely. Skip the crash animation=win! Hopefully...I still need to actually DO it.

@Adam: Methinks Sony wants to actively promote such to be the case, however. They seem to have Ubisoft's help in the matter, with their last two big titles both having PSP-PS3 connectivity of some sort (Assassin's Creed II with Bloodlines, and now Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands). Not that it would be at ALL surprising that a company wanted to make you buy more of its products, of course.

Stuff, we were talking about reality, not about what Sony dreams when it goes to sleep. Most people don't own both, and if you only have a PS3, it seems inconvenient to own a movie on it is all I'm saying.

Rocket Knights is an absolute badass 2D platformer. I am buying it and 3D dot game heroes on Friday. My time with the demo of Rocket Knights was awesome, they have tweaked it oh so perfect , enough that i will buy now instead of waiting for a price drop.It didn't blow my mind like Trine did , but i think its up there in awesomesauce. I just really love a good side scroll. There will be lots of Nostalgia for me between just these titles alone, plus i gave in and bought Megaman 10 ( on wii i wouldn't play it on any other machine) and i am trying to beat Neutopia 2. My head is spinning

@slapshot Monster Hunter is on my list of buy but its not on the top, unlike Red Dead Redemption..

@odd.... I downloaded the demo, but haven't played it yet. I did play Modnation Racers and just wasn't very impressed. Controls felt off.

E3 is suppose to reveal all of the PSN Network Upgrades. So far the rumors I found that the guy claimed will beconfirmed is that...
One PSN game download access a month, with choices of around 4.
Cross Game Chat is coming but will be available for the Free Service as well.
PSN that's not paid for will Not loose anything that it has now.
Not much we didn't know but he did let it slip that it would pay for itself with the downloads so the $100 USD price is prob right for a year.

@slapshot: well after about 5 hours of play i can say I absolutely love this game (RDD). The only things that get on my nerves are the turning of your horse while you are stopped or at a walking pace and then when you are hiding behind a rock its kind of weird shooting. Minor complaints i know. This game freaking rocks. I feel like a cowboy

Played the Mod Nation demo. The track editor is definitely a million times better than LBP, but it still was a bit confusing. I tried to lay out a track, but my guy just went around in a loop as if on autopilot. I don't get it. I could raise the track and twist it and turn it after, but it was still just a short loop. Oh well.

The actual racing is better than Mario Kart Wii at least, but it still wasn't anything to write home about. I hate the controller layout. Hopefully that can be changed in the full version. X and R2 definitely need to be switched. I'd been planning to buy this, but I think I'll just rent it.

Frankly, I still don't see why people say the game plays floaty or loose or some such. I have had no problems with it after a few minutes of play, after adjusting to it.

Oh, yes, Red Dead Redemption sure is a lot of fun. Definitely miles better than GTA. I do have GTA4, but, while it is fun at times, I never was too keen on that particular game either. It also helps that Red Dead's Western backdrop is just way more appealing to me. Seems like I spend a lot of time playing poker though, even if I tend to fritter my money away. Gotta find that cheating suit!

@Pegasus: Because it DOES have floaty controls compared to other, better racing games. But then LittleBigPlanet also has floaty platforming controls. I find the latter more bearable, though. I'm not going to get ModNation Racers because of how bad the demo was.

In other news: I got the Trophy "Hard Boiled" in Sonic Unleashed today! Anyone who knows what that is will be immediately impressed. If you don't: It's BY FAR the hardest Trophy in the game, requiring you to complete the hardest, longest level in the game without dying THREE TIMES. This ONE Trophy is why Sonic Unleashed is considered one of the hardest games to get Platinum on. I know some of you don't care, but I'm just too proud of that accomplishment to not share.

Oh, I also finished the Block Circuit in 3DDGH yesterday, at 19.45 seconds. Knowing how to stop intentionally made all the difference.

Catan is... not bad. It's a great board game, so it's hard to ruin, but it's also definately a budget release of that game. Personally I would have prefered paying $20 for a high-quality version than this, but like I said, it's Catan.

The Mod Nation Racer demo was horrible, I hated everything.I wouldn't buy it if was Ten bucks. Pass. I just got the Iron Man 2 demo gonna try it out soon. This was a good demo week!!!

@stuffy I think i am going to platinum Fallout 3.This will be my first platinum trophy .So for some reason i have been going back to the wasteland . I usually don't care about trophies but I actually want this one.

@WaltzElf: Somehow, I fear you might be in a minority on that one. I'm inclined to agree with you, even without having played this version, though. Would I be correct in assuming that the PS3 version is as lacking in substantial DLC as the Xbox 360 version? What I REALLY want is a version that can add Seafairers of Catan.

I really have no idea why developers miss obvious chances for DLC like that. Like with Monoply...they make most of their money off that game by selling themed collector's editions, yes? So why the HECK wasn't there any DLC for the most recent release of the video game? It makes no sense whatsoever! Licence that sucker up!

@odd: Your first, really? I'm at 16 now, and I'm getting close with Sonic Unleashed and Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. In fact, it's literally nothing but a time investment for the latter, which I've been meaning to do. Thing is, it's actually a fun game I don't want to simply boost...I'd rather play it online with friends. _{If only more of you had it...}

@Stuff.... OMG dude. Ive seen you playing the crap out of that game lately, and I DID in fact know it was considered to be one of the hardest Platinums available. CONGRATS of that one for sure. You are indeed the man when it comes to the trophies lol. Im really impressed you got this one, Really impressed!

Oh and Sonic All Star Racing is the next Kart Racer I buy, its just going to be awhile as MH Tri is going to take prob 200+ hr of my time easily.

@Pegasus.... I actually found the controls to be almost too quick. Seemed like everythime I was on the far right side of the track and turned left I instantly hit the left side barrier. Just way to quick. The drifiting I did get the hang of somewhat, but overall I just wasnt impressed.

@Odd.... Fallout 3 was my first Platinum as well. I really enjoyed that one. What do you need for Borderlands? I figured you already had that Platinum as all you really have to do is beat the game completely pretty much.

I dont think Ill be seeing any Platinum Trophies for awhile. Im planning on one run through on all my PS3 games now that I acquired the new Wii. I really dont think ill be buying a PS3 game again until maybe Christmas and that is good cause I have just enough to hold me over to it. Im also going back to a 5 day work week and loosing my Friday game day so my Game Time is now officially cut starting June 1st. Not cool at all lol.

What DLC? There's none. Of course, Catan is also a new game, so some might be coming later, but right now there's nothing.

Not that I care much for DLC anyway. That's not the issue imo. The game itself is like Gameloft's output - it feels cheap to play, and while there is a competant game underneath, it's just underwhelming.

I'm guessing with Galaxy two hitting the thread might slow some. MH Tri is all I've been playing and I've got to get back to Bayonetta and 3D DGH. I'm thinkin PS3 during week and Tri on weekends lol

Catan, or the Settlers of Catan, to give it its proper name, is a multi-award winning, and very important board game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Settlers_of_Catan

It's the first "classic" board game in a long time, and it's having a similar impact to what Magic: The Gathering did for collectable card games. It's getting people playing board games again.

Which is perhaps why the PS3 game is unintentionally perfect - it's just going to encourage you to play the real thing.

@waltz.... thanks for the info. Sounds really interesting. I might have to pick up the board game itself and give it a go. New board game for families to play is a win in my book. I don't play board games on consoles or handhelds as I like the actual board games much better.
