Yeah, most odd but Dogorilla's post is numbered 691 & no sign of the answers ..... Who's the tech expert to have some idea what might be going on there?
Just like the great glory of Atari, this round is now over. Once again I am happy about the almost 100 players, even though the games really were not easy. Are you ready for the results?
Ah wait, to the bonus question: 58% of you have never owned Atari hardware, 41% of you have... and it paid off, the latter scored 5 points more on average (11 vs 16).
The scores are at the end, now first the names of the games as text, then the pictures, then the high score table.

Participants from here are in bold, in case of equal scores weighted points decided (less frequently guessed titles give more), if all else fails the date of the first entry.
Well then, an award ceremony: Congratulations to PUH, windfisch, AuraPaladinne, Mangamaniac, excelsior, Marek and lifer... you all got FULL POINTS and won this round!
Also congrats to Havie, The_BACH and Gerhard S, together you are the TOP 10.
@Mr_Horizon I can see all of them except #709! Maybe there's a new restriction on post length in the forum? But then the list of answers is still pretty long so I would have thought the leaderboard would have made it through as well. Very odd.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
@Dogorilla Thanks for telling me! I checked, character count for both posts (answers vs leaderboard) is 4.932 vs 4.121, so that's not it. Amount of lines is 121 vs 131... so maybe no posts beyond 130 lines are allowed?
But then why don't I get an error message saying "sorry, can't post that" instead of this situation where it becomes a shadow post that only I can see?
It really is the weirdest thing, I'll try and find a mod.
Oh, November is the final Quiz for the year again! I've been hard pressed to participate in some of the months this year, but I'm glad I managed to post every month.
So, here is the last quiz of the year! A few months ago I had you vote on which themes you would like, and Metroidvania had made second place. So why not have a round about this popular genre with somewhat "fuzzy edges", because where does a souls-like start, and which title is more of an action adventure?
I hope you enjoy this one, even if some genre classics are not included because they were already in another quiz.
Next year there will also be another Make-a-Wish quiz, so please enter your wishes in the bonus question!
Well, found the double jump yet? Unlocked the grappling hook, discovered the Ice Beam behind the waterfall or finally got the Air Dash in your repertoire? The first twenty players have already jumped into the Metroidvania round, and I'd like to motivate the rest of you with this first batch of hints as well.
Hints #1:
1) Pictures 1 to 12 show the/one protagonist of the game. 2) Title 5 is a recent game with a distinctive "black hole head" main character. Released this August for PC, console ports to follow. 3) Number 3 is this year's sequel to a successful Metroidvania indie game. 4) Game 6 is also a sequel, kickstarter-funded and available on all major systems since 2020.
We are nearing the end of this quiz year, time for some Metroidvania backtracking! Have you really examined all the clues and scoured all the corners of the map to find the remaining games?
So far you can still reach the top 10 with less than 20 points!
The Metroidvania genre is still relatively new and this also applies to the games in this round: Only two of them were released before 2000 (!), three from the 00s, five from the current 20s... and a whole fifteen from the last decade. A complete departure to the Atari quiz of the previous month.
Are you ready for the final batch of clues?
Clues #2: 1) Game 16 is a Japanese indie classic, old enough to order a beer in the UK or Germany. Only three games in this round are older. 2) Number 19 is an 80s sci-fi Metroidvania that has appeared on several computers, but no consoles. 3) If you want to try a different jumping mechanic, you should play title 17. Runs on all modern systems! 4) In game 9 you explore several planets, the name starts with "X".
