Haven't tried it yet, but the quest that's required to unlock HR30 looks insane. I'll give it a try another day, but first want to hunt a few Diablos and Kulu-Ya-Ku in order to complete the limited weekly bounty missions for once.
Bazelgeuse is dangerous, but you just have to get your hits in and wear it out. Also, bring or gather dung pods if you don't want to have to dodge two at once. Also, fireproof mantle.
Cool, I wonder what that'll be. If that ends up being an expansion pack, then I'll probably get it. If they go with the Monster Hunter World Ultimate route, then not sure whether I'd bother with it.
I think that map might just be future proofing or saying that there's more terra incognita in the New World. After 4 and World were so migratory and based around groups each with a mission, I'd kinda like a small town village setting again in the next game. But of course the quality of the maps themselves is a higher order need than that of the hub town.
On another note, at least with World they finally explained why these creatures would live in the extreme underground and volcano environments where — importantly — not much grows. And besides the explicit story stuff, it fits with Uragaan's lore. It eats ore and has no natural predators except elder dragons, so it might be the primary producer (first level of an ecosystem that takes abiotic chemicals and converts them into biomass that fuels the cycle of predation) for the Elder's Recess in an odd way. I mean seriously, it doesn't make a ton of sense for Agnaktor to live in the volcano if small monsters can't withstand the heat or graze there. Fish gotta eat!
I actually really like the world design, I think the maps are great. Oh well.
I've reached hr and can do 8 star quests as of yesterday. I'd love to share the journey with others, so if you're open to join a squad in the game and do just that let me know.
So I finally got a ruby after farming Rathalos all day yesterday (and a few times today) only to discover that the lance I was crafting was the only Rathalos weapon line that took two rubies for its final few upgrades. I craft it and go back to grinding, only for another ruby to drop on my immediate next hunt. And when I take the final form Blue Prominence out to farm Vaal Hazak gems one drops on my first hunt — what I needed for the sick headsman's axe-hammer.
I got my last missing canteen ingredients and maxed out the scout fly levels for every monster last night. For those who don't know, y'know how each region has two resource point gather spots that can give one of three items like flower beds and cacti? Well, there are special, identical looking nodes that give a rare fourth item (and canteen ingredient) that only spawn in specific locations when that particular resource is flourishing in the region. Those are where I found the last ingredients not rewarded by quest lines.
Making a constant crit weakness exploit/Teostra set. I have the head, arms, legs, and weakness exploit charm after getting a gem off him (and one from the wyvernian). I just need 3 Rath rubies now as I'm trying to get max crit boost. Ultimately though I think I'll need a crit boost decoration as I won't be able to get level 3 crit boost, weakness exploit, and the Teostra set bonus that keeps crits from losing sharpness otherwise.
I really liked jhen mohran better than zorah. The world's prettier, sure, but nergigante flies off before you even get there, I still don't get the magmacore stuff, stalactites are useless as you're never up high enough to hit them in time, where the hell is nergigante! and then you just end up rolling around and watch the thing go bingy boing.
At least my support doesn't realise how to fail this quest either, you really have to mess it up in order to.
I hope future updates include a snow world, with hot drinks, ice barroth et all, and jhen. I liked jhen. At least he serves me some rocks.
So, I took a little excursion into DOOM-with-motion-controls Land and Bayonetta 2 Land... but I'm back (for the record though, those games are muah! So good, especially DOOM with motion).
ANYWAYS.
I finally convinced my coworker to buy the game. He actually owned a Wii U (he's not even a "Nintendo fan" he's just a casual gamer that liked Smash Brothers and Captain Toad, of all games lol). But he bought MH3U for Wii U A few years ago at my recommendation but never really got into it. Truth is he never really tried to get into it but he did say he enjoyed the little he played. He says he's always been meaning to go back and play it but, just never did.
So it wasn't all that hard to sell him on this game, I just had to convince him it was super fun. So he texted me last night with a picture of him beating Great Jaggras. I'm sure that feels like a huge accomplishment for a new player. So I congratulated him and urged him to continue playing. I feel like I'm going to be a walking wiki for this guy for the next month and a half.
As for myself, I am HR 42 and kind of stagnated for a while because the tempered monsters weren't really grabbing my interest. But I decided to make an Uragaan set and Nerg lance to block tempered Kirin lighting (planning ahead... fail to plan and you plan to fail, right?). Now that that's done I just need enough armor spheres to actually upgrade everything. I somehow landed 3 Uragaan rubies- 2 just from my last run. Of course I only needed one of them so the game gives me a handful (go figure).
Now it's onward to finishing the last 3 bounties I have- Wigglers, Shakalala tracks (or whatever the heck those little tribal dudes are called, they remind me of Shakalakas), and catch a Goldenfish. Then I need to complete the weekly bounty because gems are always in demand around these parts. Then I need to finish all the optional quests I haven't completed and unlock the optional quest for all the star ranks that are still blue instead of red.
THEN, and only then, can I focus on progressing to HR 49 to take on the Almighty Tempered Kirin. Hopefully by the time I do all this stuff I will already be HR 49 though.
It's practically impossible to learn everything about this game, I keep finding (or being pointed to) new details. For context, Vigorwasps collect Vitalily nectar for their healing pouches. I read that in the hunter's notes a while back, I just didn't know they had animated it in-game.
My idea for World's DLC endgame consists of a level editor where all you can do is place wedge beetles, transmogrification, and combining the recolorable portions of alpha and beta sets to give each piece of gear multiple color layers.
Last night killed my 50th tempered monster. Finally got one descent jewel. Most were elders, and Lv1. Lv 2 are next to impossible for me to get so no evasion mantle for me. Funny I got the Weakness exploit jewel right on my fiftieth quest. Like saying wow you stuck in there anyways so heres a bone stick around just a little longer.
