Radiant Historia is a great game. If you like RPGs, you'll love this one.
@zezzy: The usage of curse words such as that one greatly diminishes the credibility of whatever argument or point of view is being presented. Although the source is a blog read by probably 10 people, it is still unprofessional. So no, the arguments may not be wrong, but they lose all credibility due to poor presentation.
Inconsistency Between Gameplay and Cutscene: I don't see how this is a bad thing. It's meant to draw you in with cinematics. Showing off what Snake can do in his prime. The reason the gameplay isn't like the cinemas is because no one wants the original MGS to having jumping and this OP crap. MGS is fine the way it is gameplay. The cinemas were amp'd for a modern audience hence the fact the PS1 couldn't do what the Cube did.
Sub-par Voice Acting I agree. The voice acting was really good but not flawless like the original. Which IMO is the best overall.
Unimpressive Graphics Sure they're not as good as it's PS2 counterparts (which is ironic), but they're still really good. I love the graphics actually. They kept me in awe actually and environmentally, they're better than MGS2's. Not MGS3's but maybe MGS4's.
Modern Gameplay/Dated Enviroment lolwut.
No extras/Uncomfortable True. But the game itself adds more than what MGS3D is. Or even the HD collection. Opinion.
Why Remake Metal Gear Solid?/The Original Stood Out For It's Time Why? Because it's a great place to start. Why not recreate the best MGS title ever on a next gen system? And no sh*t the original stood out.... (duh)

@Radixxs: It's a humor site. And I don't really care how much credit you give anything. It's nice to see you insult it though.
The points are all still there, if you're scared of a couple grammar mistakes and curse words then don't read it. idgaf.
Modern Gameplay/Dated Enviroment lolwut.
The game levels were built around the limited control MGS1 had. Bringing in the first person view for shooting and other things from MGS2 really took away all the fun of the original.
Notice though that I played MGS1 on the PS1 before TTS. So it could be nostalgia. Bleh.
And really, this is just my opinion. I just dont find that guy to be very... smart. It was a nice read seeing him try and hate on a nearly perfect game though.

@27: Just trying to explain the point V Joe was making, as you seemed not to understand. I admit the 10 readers thing was kinda a cheap shot, but I thought it was funny.

Tacking the word 'opinion' to the end of a statement doesn't make it one. Facts are, MGS HD added trophies (the biggest thing of all for me), pretty HDness, MG 1 & 2 from the MSX2 with official translations, and PW got a whole new online mode. But I guess whatever TTS added to the original as better than all of that, right?
Like I said this is all my opinion as it is yours. No point in debating about it. And yeah I've been playing Metal Gear games since I was 8 and I find TTS to be amazing. To each their own, lol.

No no no no no no. See how I bolded all the topic titles in his blog? I replied to one and turned around and one word answered the other. Him thinking the controls are awkward is his opinion and there's no point for me to break down that. Especially when I know I thoroughly enjoyed the controls
Edit: Metal 1 and 2 were in the original release of Subsistence so it's not new. Nor is PW's updated online. It's just updated.
Nah PW never had online. They added that for the HD remaster. But yes, Metal Gear 1 and 2 were in the Subsistence release of MGS3.
and I see what you mean with the controls. that is an opinion I guess. but the original controls were certainly less awkward thanks to pressure sensitive buttons.
Actually it does have multiplayer. Scroll done to the last paragraph before the closing comments. If I read that right it's online. But I'm too tired to care.
So all MGSHD did was add HD graphics and trophies. And online multiplayer. For three games. Yaaaay.

Nope. Peace Walker only had local multi co-op over adhoc.
HD and trophies are actually what made me buy all those games again. Like we said with opinions, mine is that these remastered games are some of the prettiest I've seen, and I couldn't stand the way the originals looked on my HDTV. Widescreen and... HDness... adds so much to them. Trophies gives me a reason to 100% them :3
I personally loved Twin Snakes so I don't know what all you noobs are arguing about.
“The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.” - "Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them."
My list has been narrowed down to Twin Snakes -or- Radiant Historia. Two vastly different types of games I know. I will think about it as I while away the hours with family this weekend. Decisions... Decisions...
