Maybe you'll like Starcraft. IDK, though...

Go make some new disaster
That's what I'm counting on...

Now I only want you gone

Obligatory Orange Box comment.

Seriously the best thing you could ever buy.

Check out my classy comics.

Steam can also accept PayPal, and really the only way to get into the PC gaming world is to buy games.

QUEEN OF SASS

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

That and Left 4 Dead 1&2. Prepare for the Steam Christmas sales!!!

Looking at the stuff that matters, you definitely have a powerful computer. It's loads better than mine. If you're looking for horror games, basically anything made by Frictional Games fits the bill. Of course, Frictional's kind of horror is the horror where you want to crawl up in the corner with all the lights turned on. If you're looking for "Bang-Bang-Shoot-Shoot" horror, you're gonna have to look at console ports or much older games, such the Resident Evil series and the System Shock games.

EDIT: Oh, and the Orange Box. I don't even need to say anything else. It's the freaking Orange Box.

well i do have that terrible port of command and conquer compliation so i like those kind of games too but as long as its not a monthy fee thing then i may consider it

irken004@ i really like those series, i got the pc disc version but may get the digital version as i dont like to have to insert a dvd everytime i want to play the game i leave that kind of activity to my consoles only, hopefully the i can catch on those cheap combos n get both games,

doesnt the orange box include portal, cuz i got that for free

Yes, but there are also Half Life 2, HL2 Episodes 1 & 2, and Team Fortress 2 included, That is itself is still a great bargain. I'm almost certain they'll have another Orange Box sale for Christmas.

@Link-Hero

oh yeah as for the horrors, something scary as an example along the lines of the old resident evil suvivor horror games with the puzzle solving elements getting u really involve in the story to scared to proceed any further without guts

but im open to any other type of game similar ish to it

i also like rpgs,
i think left 4 dead filled my shooting desires plus it has zombies in it which is what i like about resident evil so i automatically like it in any other games for some odd reason

keep up the suggestions guys i really apprieate it

Yes, do get the PC version of Orange Box, especially since you get updates for Team Fortress 2.

Xbox Live/PSN/Steam: KyubiStewie
3DS Friend Code: 1289 - 9213 - 4049 (Mike)

Deviant_Mugen

Get Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, Fallout: New Vegas and the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy...

(Those are the first ones I'd get if I had a badass gaming PC...)

If you decide to get The Orange Box, there's also Garry's Mod. It's fun once you learn how to do everything.

Put in some info about how you could easily save money and still get the same results. You are paying for overkill that isn't going to necessarily last any longer.

true but im considering the future where the standards on pc games will go higher this computer i have now cant even do any newer games so i was considering getting rid of this one, beside it was all they had at futureshop claiming to be a gaming machine and so forth they have newer models coming in so either i pay $1599.99 for it now or wait till the newer models come in and hope the existing one i listed in the post goes cheaper

but yeah at least this way i dont have to worry about upgrading to get better and max performance and it would be nice instead of just meeting minium requirements would be nice cuz well im not really the smart kind when it comes to tech stuff too complicated for me lol

I mean that it should be just as future-proof without shelling out the extra. You probably aren't going to get a whole lot better buying retail anyway, so you probably did not too bad at that price. Next time, whenever that may be, you should consider building one. It is fairly easy from what I hear, and cheaper.

That reminds me, Batman: Arkham Asylum is also fun, but it requires Games For Windows Live (which is a pain to use on a computer, but it's worth it)

Building a computer is really easy, yeah. Often much cheaper too. I'm in the middle of upgrading my PC with a new processor (2.5Ghz dual-core AMD Athlon 64, from a 2Ghz single-core), new motherboard, new graphics card (1Ghz ATI card, from a 64Mb nVidia onboard chip), new case and 450W power supply. It's cost me just under £120 in total - the harddrive, DVD-RW, and RAM (4Gb DDR2) are all from the old machine.
Like ravage said, 12Gb RAM, especially as it's already DDR3, is a massive overspend. DDR3 RAM is really expensive, you'll probably save a few hundred dollars and see little, if any, decrease in performance by slashing half of that.

Sentences would be nice.

Computer hardware improves significantly every few years. Eventually (probably around 10 years from now if you're not picky about maximum graphics settings) you're going to have to upgrade some of the components. Hopefully that's long enough that you think the investment was worth it.

Personally I'd recommend a lot of older PC games but those aren't the ones that people are crazed over. It's all about graphics and hype, right? That's what high-end PCs are for, huh.
