I have lost a fair amount of PS2 games, I have no idea where the are. I just know what container they are in and I have yet to find it (there is RE 4 I know floating around in there.)

I haven't really ever lost a game. For a while I thought I'd lost Mario Tennis Open, but I eventually found it inside my Club Nintendo Mario Hat pouch which I'd forgotten about. A few years back my brother took all the N64 games I owned along with the console (which he owned) even though the games were hidden in my room. Didn't get them back for a whole year. I was most upset about losing Mario Party 3. Not only do I love that game but it's so expensive to replace on ebay! It's now proudly set up in my room, safe from my brother who no longer games (he's also back living with me, so there's nowhere for it to go)

Well this topic has caused me anxiety because it has highlighted all of my missing games.
C64: Hundreds of tapes ranging from expensive AAA games like Ghostbusters 2 to much better cheaper games like Dan Dare and Creatures
Sega Saturn: Euro 96 - stolen by a scumbag, confronted him and he tried to make out I was racist
N64: ISS98 and Majora's Mask
Dreamcast: MSR, Virtua Tennis, Soul Calibur and Jet Grind/Set Radio
Gamecube: Super Monkey Ball 2, REmake and Soul Calibur 2, LotR Two Towers, Timesplitters 2
Wii: NSMBW, Big Brain Academy + many more destroyed by kids scratching disks.
I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.
I lost most of my NES games, and don't have any memory at all what happened to them. I don't think they were sold, and don't remember giving them away either.
I lost a copy of Rayman 2 for PC when my family moved... I have no idea where it is now. I'm pretty sure we've finished going through all of the boxes but no one ever found it. My brother did end up picking it up for Dreamcast though.
I lost quite a number of games in my life, most of them lending to or stolen from irresponsible "friends".
The one I can look back on and laugh is when I lost my 3ds leather case with Super Mario 3D Land and Resident Evil: The Mercenary 3D inside. I literally went through the 5 stages of grief in the span of 2.5 weeks in order. Long interesting story short, I just brought it again at the final stage of grief. Wish I waited longer to get them as digital especially Resident Evil.

I definitely lost some games during my youth. Here's a list of the games and consoles that were gone without warning:
A Game Boy Color with Wario Land 3 cartridge inserted in it; I'm pretty sure someone stole it
A Nintendo 64 console with Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Kirby 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Yoshi's Story, Ocarina of Time, Pokémon Stadium, Mario Golf and Mario Tennis; In 2001-2002 someone mistaken the plastic bag (holding the system and its games) as garbage and then threw it to bin, and then I haven't got them back ever since
Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt; Thankfully, I got another copy of it thanks to our family having two DS systems since Christmas 2004
Game & Watch Collection; This one was a close-call, I accidentally dropped the game card on the bus's floor when swapping games and the bus driver gave it back to me the next day

I am unfortunately pretty good at losing things... From what I can remember, I have lost my Pokémon Emerald, Fire Emblem(recently found though) and I think quite a few DS games...

I lost my entire DS lite, and it had Mario Kart DS and Pac-Man World 2 (GBA) in it...
...two days later I replaced it with my 3DS and Mario Kart 7... so it wasn't so bad.
I lost my Tactics Ogre GBA cartridge while working at GameStop. Looking back on the amount of theft that went on there ( by employees) I wouldn't be surprised if a fellow co-worker pocketed my game. I was so close to finishing it! Wahh!!

I'm impressed someone else here even had that game.
I lost my copy of Sonic Advance 2 in my family's couch the first day I got it. I never found it.
I accidentally left my GBA with Sonic Advance 3 in it in a cab once. Never got them back.
I accidentally left my Nintendo DS Lite with the original Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games inside in a resort room once. When I went back to look for it, I couldn't find it. My mom could not find it either.
I got a Game Boy Color, once. It had Pokemon TGC in it. I lost it within the first week.
My Nintendo GameCube, memory cards, and my huge collection of games for it was left in our car. The car got towed, and we never saw it or the GameCube, memory cards and games inside ever again.
My PS2, memory cards, and huge collection of games for it was pawned by my mom at a pawn shop. We never saw the PS2, memory cards, or the games again.
I had a GBA and GBA SP. I don't remember what happened to them, but they are gone now, along with the games.
I got another DS Lite, but I don't remember what happened to it. I still had the games.
Eventually, I had gotten another DS (this time, a regular model). Around the same time, I also got my first Wii console, something I had been wanting for a very long time.
I eventually got a Nintendo 3DS, along with Pokemon White.
When my mom and I shared a house with her "friend" for a while, her "friend" ended up locking us out, and my DS and most of my regular DS games were inside, along with the box for my 3DS, the 3DS's instruction manual, and the AR Cards. Luckily, I still had the 3DS and some of my DS games in my backpack with me. (I had no 3DS games at the time.) However, one of the games that was left in was my copy of Pokemon White with Victini on it. It kills me to this day that I lost that.
I had my first Wii stolen, along with a few games. I got it replaced not too long afterwards.
I accidentally left a couple of Wii and DS games at a house I stayed at for a little while, along with the cases for a few of my DS and 3DS games. Never saw them again.
I am currently waiting for my Nintendo 3DS to return from repair. I don't know if I'll still have the ambassador games or not, but I should be able to redownload all the games I purchased. Sucks that the save data is likely gonna be gone, though.
Right now, all I have is a Wii, some Wii games, and some Nintendo DS and 3DS games.
