An update for those that are interested:

The game has been confirmed for a retail release on October 6th in North America and Europe. In North America, the first shipments of the games (and pre-ordered copies) will include a soundtrack CD. It is a specially arranged medley spanning several of the game’s musical themes, originating from multiple acclaimed series. The medley includes "Ruin and Salvation" (Valkyria Chronicles Stage, Daytime Ver.), "Abyss" (Shinobi Stage), "Seaside B-Field" (Sonic the Hedgehog Stage), and more. Vita version will also include a Collectible Outer Box. Composers include Teruhiko Nakagawa (Shinobi), Naofumi Hataya (NiGHTS into Dreams…), Kenichi Tokoi (Sonic and the Secret Rings), and Jun Senoue (Sonic Adventure series, Sonic Heroes, Sonic and the Black Knight) among others.

The PS3 version's price is $39.99, and the Vita version's price is $29.99 in North America. I am not sure about Europe's prices.

I will update the original post to include this info... And also to fix the Valkyria Chronicles typo, because I've actually been playing Valkyria Chronicles recently, and I feel really stupid for making that typo.

Personal opinions on the game:

I got to play the Japanese version of this game at the SXSW Gaming Expo and at Mini-Mini Con this year. I'm not too familiar with fighting games outside of Super Smash Bros., but I found this to be a really fun crossover game. There were quite a few funny moments when playing, such as Kirino sitting on Kirito's stomach and slapping him (much like how she did to Kyousuke in the beginning of her series) in one of her attacks, and Shizuo screaming "IZZZZAYA?!?!?" when summoning Izaya as an assist.

The soundtrack is really cool. Some of the songs are remixes, while others are original songs made to sound like they could be from the original SEGA game they're based on. It's a really cool idea, and it works well for the game. When a tiebreaker is going on, one of the game's theme songs play, and things get really exciting, especially in a close match.

Overall, this is a fun little game for those that like the characters and/or the series they originate from. It also might introduce you to a few new series if you aren't familiar with all of them. (There were a few across both playable and assists that I didn't know about before, like Strike the Blood, Golden Time, and Kino's Journey.) I recommend that you give it a try if you're interested.

NOTE: Apparently, Akira Yuki and Selvaria Bles (along with Pai Chan and Alicia Melchiott as assists) are unlocked through story mode, so they aren't available from the beginning.
