Topic: Anyone Else Have A Feeling MW3 Will Get Mixed/Average Reviews?

Hey guys, I like Call of Duty as much as the next guy, but I can't help this feeling that MW3 is going to get mixed or average reviews. I'm unsure if I'm going to get it, because I don't think it's going to do anything new but everyone I know is getting it. Reviews will probably come out by tommarow, and I guess those will determine if I'm getting it.

I'm not trying to be some CoD hating troll, I just think it's not going to do as well.

Me too I hate the Call of Duty franchise. I hope that Battlefield takes up its mantle and kills of Call of Duty.

Regardless of if I get MW3 or not, I'll definitely be picking up Battlefield 3 eventually. It will probably come after I get all of the other holiday games, but I will get it eventually.

The entire Call of Duty franchise has been mixed/average. It is just incredibly overrated.

It looks mediocre to me. Honestly, I hope this game fails so people will realize that there are better games to play and stop talking about how great they think Call of Duty is. I've always liked the Battlefield games much better than Call of Duty.

Yeah, I think almost everybody is starting to get sick and/or tired of Call of Duty by now. I was surprised by the amount of "Okay" reviews that Black Ops had, specifically for the PC version. I also think that everybody will have raised their expectations of the multiplayer mode due to Battlefield 3. Either way, I'll actually be happy if Call of Duty takes a break for a few years and lets other, more interesting games dominate the holiday season.

I disagree. Call of Duty 2 and 4 were both great games. Awesome single player campaigns and balanced multiplayer in CoD4. Both were praised by gamers (especially PC players) and critics before the series fell off a cliff and starting deserving the hate it gets for now being mediocre in everything after CoD4. The other games in the series have been utter crap (especially Modern Warfare 2).

MW3 looks to continue the crap.

I enjoyed MW2. But damn why the hell would you want a game to fail and make people lost jobs. ( and hating a product is stupid) going to wait to decided between this and halo.

Call of Duty 4 was ground breaking. As was MW2 (which got Game of the Year on a lot of sites). I especially loved the offline for MW2 and MW whereas Black Ops not so much. Actually the more I play Black Ops the more I dislike it.

MW3 will get pretty solid reviews. Not Game of the Year but it will be a great game none the less.

Why should it really concern you that it will get moderate reviews, or not? If you think the game will be good, get it. If not, then just don't get it. Falling into a hype train is never really a good idea.

I should also mention that MW2 got rave reviews on the PC while it was barely functional without dedicated servers. Don't always trust reviews from a single source or the most popular source.

I liked MW2 better then MW3
This one feels a bit glitchy, but I did like the air dogfight stage, wish they had more of that.

Atleast Battlefield actually innovates and does new things. Just look at Battlefield 3 with the new Frostbite 2 engine, it's amazing! Call of Duty is just the same recycled fail.

CoD 4 was amazing! But then MW2 was just MW with new guns and perks. Black Ops was actually pretty good, Treyarch even asked the players ideas for it... yet it still turned out crap. MW3 will still get stellar reviews like every other CoD game, but I think FPS of the Year will go to Battlefield 3.

I hope critics will mention the lack of innovation MW3 has. CoD is ready to die imo. The games have not moved one step forward since the original MW, only gotten bigger, and it's only a matter of time until the masses of fans of the series realize that's it's just the same game with a new coat of paint on it. That's why I think Guitar Hero died. The games stopped innovating, and consumers didn't feel like shelling out the cash to re-buy practically the same game year after year. The only reason CoD hasn't followed GH is because Activision saw more money could be made faster with GH than with CoD. And it seems like they'll do the exact same thing with Skylanders and whatever comes after that.

No. Everything about the other games in the series (whether you like it or not) is far above average. So I highly doubt that this one will lose any of the quality. And from what I've seen in the trailers, they've added enough new content to an old formula to make it worthwhile.
