Topic: Ys Origins.

Couldn't find a thread on this game, i see its currently on sale for about a fiver in European regions.

Wonder what other feel about the game, i had a blast playing it , the art style is great, similar dna to some previous Ys games.

I made a point of this being the first Ys game I've played, and I really liked it.
But now I have been waiting for years for a Switch port of Ys 1 + 2.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The problem with Ys 1+2 is that they are by far the oldest and most archaic titles in the franchise. They are still reasonably playable, but you can tell they are late 90s visual revamps of late 80s games. This makes them a rather hard sell for a console port, compared with stuff that's gotten a full remake in the 21st century and plays much more modern.

Origins is more a classic, linear Ys experience.

I much prefer the search/action entries of VII through IX.

X is somewhere in between.

I really liked progressing up the tower in this game, i thought this was cool and different to other Ys games I've played.
