So I was late to the Xenoblade train, but I’m running through Xenoblade Chronicles DE, and wanted to dive into the second one as soon as I’m finished...I’ve been looking everywhere online for a physical copy but it looks like it’s gone up significantly in price and haven’t come across it in any store...I know I can go digital but I live in a rural area and am stuck with satellite internet(RIP Me). Do you guys think with Pyra coming to smash Nintendo will produce more physical copies or do I bite the bullet and just get digital?

@Asthmalxrd : The only way to know is to wait.

As far as I have been aware, Xenoblade 2 and the standalone physical release of the DLC (Torna: The Golden Country) have been out of print for some time. I doubt that Torna will ever be reprinted, but there's a slim chance that Xenoblade 2 might come back in to circulation.

This is probably not the advice you'd want to hear, but, give it another 6 months if you're keen on a restock, but there's the chance that it won't be reprinted, and copies will become even more expensive via eBay and the like.

There's also a slim chance that Nintendo may relaunch their Selects range (or similar) toward the end of the lifespan of the Switch, and may reissue some of their best-sellers at a lower price. Or even better, a complete edition with the DLC on the cartridge along with the base game.

This is all hypothetical of course. The only certainty at the moment is that the physical releases are out of print.

@urrutiap Gamestop was the first place I tried,no store in 100 mile radius from my house has it and no option to buy it online

@Silly_G yeah I’m gonna hold out for a reprint but I’ll probably end up caving in and putting up with my internets ludicrous DL speeds and get it digitally, I have high hopes the selects series will come back but not sure how long that’ll be since the switch is still riding a strong wave. At least bravely default 2 comes out next week to scratch my jrpg itch.

@Asthmalxrd wow you and me are going thru the same thing! I beat XC:DE at launch and loved it. It's easily a top 5-10 game of all time for me so I wanted to play XC2 now and I can't find a physical copy new under 80. It's crazy! Let me know if you find it.

I used to be able to relate on the crap internet front thanks to being stuck under the thumb of a monopoly, but no longer thankfully. My sympathies.

Thanks for this thread. While I received XC2 as a gift for Christmas 2019, I have yet to pick up Torna: The Golden Country and previously ignored it in lieu of other titles; I had no idea it had gone out of print! I'll be keeping an eye out for it locally, though my options are somewhat limited compared to more populated areas. I know the local Walmart had a copy or two before the holidays....

Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)

Hmmmm, it's still the normal price in the UK.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

Asthmalxrd

@Balta666 normally yes, but the option isn’t available for XB2 for some reason.

I don't live in the States but can't you order the game at gamestop and they will get it for you from other store in the country?

This is what I did. While my store didn’t have it new I was able to have it shipped to my local store from a different location and snag it from there.

I’m going through the same thing now in Canada! I want the physical since I have xc de physical. Some guy in Edmonton had a full box of them selling for 200 on kijiji. Super frustrating. I should have bought it on release instead of hesitating and then waiting for the first to release.

@Northwind since posting I’ve upgraded my isp so it’s no problem getting it digitally anymore, now the issue is if I want to shell out that much for the physical just to beef up the collection

Starurn

@Asthmalxrd from what I knew Xenoblade Chronicles 2 switched over to Digital Copies to easily distribute them around the globe easily from online Digital and Physical copies were sold side by side for a while then digital copies just seemed to take over this might not help much but that is what i've found out from looking into it.

@Starurn Digital is the cheap Cash Cow for them not people looking for the game. Digital didn't take over the physical - they only made them for the time they had them and beyond that there was no incentive to keep producing the Physical product if there wasn't enough demand for them. Also a physical would go down in price so why else would you think they would top making the Physical version... less $$$ for them is why. While people still pay full Digital Price for the game. Yeah eBay stinks for how it does the Physical games re-sale.

I'm shocked that so few of these were printed. I understand why the Torna DLC would be a small run, but the main game should have been printed in greater quantity.
