@toiletduck In NG+, you can spend 200,000 bonus XP for 20k crystals.
You need to play Tiger Tiger for the Light element and the Master Mods, though. (After Chapter 8 at least) Those are random from Stage 5. The Master Mods in particular are a tiny bit better than the ones you can craft, but you can use Tora with only level 1 Mods throughout the entire game without any Tiger Tiger. He turns from average to mega broken if you put in enough time. Even like 10-20 minutes per Poppi form is enough to give you useful skills that will save your life, like group-heal per Special Art or increasing block rates or increased critical rates/damage.
Easy mode also doesn't penalize you at all. So use that for farming, the ability to touch walls makes the game much more relaxing.
Another tip: you can kill jellyfish from the side if you attack diagonally down at the top-half of their sprite. You don't need to be completely at the top aiming down. Use that to your advantage.
Finally, if you get unwanted parts from clearing stages, turn them into crystals so you can get the things you actually want.

@toiletduck I barely played Tiger Tiger and Poppi was fine without all the fancy upgrades. I'm sure they'll make her much better but I honestly forgot about the whole minigame at one point and didn't feel like Poppi was any worse than other blades.
@subpopz thanks, some more usefull information I own a SF30 Pro so I could very well use it for this, thanks for the advice. Also good to know that I'm not the only one who hates the minigame.
Is there actually anyone out there who doesn't feel it's weird that they included Tiger Tiger in this way?
Yeah I have a reasonable amount of experience with jrpgs but not tackled something like this in a long time. I'm excited by the challenge but sometimes I think... am I doing this right?? Am I missing something?? Is there some detail I've forgotten from the tutorial??
Yeah that's actually how I feel most of the time but I'm starting to get the hang of it, now that I'm getting used to the basic mechanics. I'm still getting killed most of the time when I take on a lvl9 beast while I'm at level 12 though...
Yeah I know that feeling!! It's starting to click now and actually it's fast becoming one of my favourite combat systems in a long time. So many layers building on what came before to give a complex but satisfying fight.
And yeah I am not a fan of tiger tiger at all. Why is it there?? Some jrpgs have included great mini games that fit perfectly. Or maybe Gwent in the Witcher 3 just makes any other mini game pointless to me now
Okey, I'll share an unpopular opinion on the first hours of XC2. I'm in chapter 3 now, working on getting the boat parts. So far, I really don't like the game. Thankfully I do like two very important parts of the game: the story and the battle system. Therefore I'll probably give it a few more shots.
So here it goes, in random order:
I get killed with one blow continuously by randomly appearing L76 animals on my route to my main objective
Maps are very confusing when I compare the Skip Travel map with the ingame map
Waaaayyyy too many and too long cutscenes! Let me play already
Why is that Tiger Tiger game there?!
It feels far from 'open world' these first hours in
Music and sound effects in battle scenes are far too chaotic
Maybe I'm spoiled with the Great Plateau now, but I'm not really happy with my purchase yet. Especially after all the praise I've read on forehand. It's not that surprising that I don't like the game so far, but it's surprising that it's because of these specific points. I was more worried about the storyline and battlesystem before I bought the game.
Am I missing something here? I really want to like this game
Xenoblade staple. You have to learn how to avoid them. Learning enemy patrols and where they are really helps. Just a heads up, there will never be a time where you have to run through high-leveled enemies to get to your destination. There will be one instance in Chapter 4 that may seem that way, but in reality isn't once you explore a bit more.
The two are pretty much the same now with 1.3.0. Before that the minimap sucked hard, but now it's good.
JRPG thing, they're all very chatty. Xenoblade 1 had ~13 hours of cutscenes, Xenoblade 2 has around the same.
Idk, the devs thought it was a good idea? (It wasn't) You don't need to play it as Poppi's good without it, but you get alternate party members that can take over Tora's spot.
It's not an open world game like BotW was. It's a linear game with large-scale areas.
You can turn off the voices in the settings while retaining cutscene voices.
So yeah, most of it is expected from the series and genre and just how the game was designed to be. If this is your first time playing JRPGs like this, that's understandable. I recommend you keep pushing forward though, it only gets better from there.

Hi all. New to this site and nintendo switch. Was just wondering whether this game is worth a try for someone who loves games like final fantasy and mmorpgs? I have never played a xenoblade game but I like the look of it. Thanks for your replies
@AlternateButtons@EvilLucario@subpopz thanks a lot for going into my complaints seriously and taking the trouble to either support or refute them. Like I already stated: I will put some extra effort and hours in it. Your advice will absolutely help.
I'm actually starting to get used to the maps now and my party has become a bit stronger which makes the game a bit easier. I don't think I'll turn off the battle dialogue for now, exactly because of the combo tips. Good to know it's an option though.
So hopefully next time I'll stop by to rant about the game, it'll be all praise and glory
You may remember my lament regarding ordering this game. Weeeeelllll after a lot of online-trouble (emails, telephone-conversations, etc) I finally have the game in my possesion. Thank goodness! I play it tonight!
I found out , just played xenoblade chronicles 2 and the ZR objective button work now
i had to get inside market in town oldmouth argentum first
i am right in begining of game.
when you walk around zr objective wont work, it was so silly i though something was wrong
click ZR for objective, but i didnt have a objective yet so didnt work (should have said no objective yet)
anyway after entering the market as i proceed in the learning mode
it explained ZR objective and it then work, Very good game I like it.
@Galenmereth wouldn't say it's a disappointment exactly, I think normally with JRPGS on NG+ doesn't it work like that? You're super OP?
You can level down as you say but you're still kinda unstoppable since your blade arts are so strong. But I think as you progress with your NG+ the enemies will get stronger and stronger and you can keep yourself 10 levels (or more) below where you should be, so it should remain challenging.
I thought that NG+ with no change is normal though :X
Just usually they unlock some new quests... or nothing, really. I know there's some that made it neat, but... most of the time I don't remember where NG+ make things super harder. ( o-o) usually just carry-over from the old one if you want to do a rerun, or get another ending.
@Galenmereth Well NieR is less NG+ rather than you must play those routes because otherwise the story's not complete- definitely not what I had in mind as NG+ to be honest XD
Well for the blades situation, I remember them saying that you can get the NG+ Blade from the start even though you still meet them in story because "they want to make it fun for the player instead of locking it away until certain part of the story", which I think is legit for them because you have gone through the whole story anyway so it's just why not.
I dunno, I always find NG+ is just for relaxing and rerunning the story without the hassle of leveling up, farming money, getting items etc I guess. Just different view
@Galenmereth I think @darkfenrir is right there, traditionally that's my understanding of the "point" of NG+, although that seems to have changed more recently. It's just a matter of expectation I guess. That said I do actually prefer the enemies to be more powerful in NG+ myself.

Have to agree with you on these points. I know its possible to avoid the high level beasts but it also seems a bit strange there roaming around from the start ready to one hit you when you just want to wonder about a bit and get a feel for the areas. The soundtrack is awesome but yeah theres so much going on during battles that the music on top can make it overwhelming and a bit hard to concentrate. Maps are pretty poor but I did wonder if this was intentional to try and get you taking in the locales rather than staring at maps all the time.
Just got back into this after a month or two of inactivity and finished Chapter 4. I have to say, even though I tend to be an "all-gameplay, all the time" sort of person, I'm absolutely playing this for the story, characters, music, and fun anime aesthetic. Being unable to complete side quests because I don't have the right blade skills yet continues to annoy me to no end, though. Getting one-shotted by lvl 80 enemies in lower level areas sucks. And, despite being better than in previous games, I continue to not really look forward to battles.
The cutscenes and music alone make it worth playing, though.
