Looks like we're getting another high-profile sports title for Nintendo Switch in WWE 2K18. The game has been listed for Nintendo’s latest platform by an Austrian retailer. Looks like it's happening. This will be my first WWE game since the PlayStation One era when i loved the WWE games and played them to death. Who's exited for this?

It's Official! WWE 2K18 is indeed coming to the Switch!

I posted that in the Switch thread earlier, but for now it's just a rumour. Don't think it's worth creating a thread for something that's not official and hasn't been announced.

Sounds good if this ends up being true. It would be another fun local multiplayer.

Thanks for creating a new thread for it too. Otherwise I wouldn't have seen it.

This would.be amazing

But I really hope they don't just port the last gen versions. I love wrestling games and I love the switch, I want to see the two together

but in a quality fashion

If true then absolutely fantastic.

Wrestling is a terrible form of entertainment that insults everyone who touches it.

It is also awesome

I miss the days of wrestling on N64. Nintendo dominated this type of game back then. However if this was coming to the Switch, wouldn't it have been announced by now?

@Kuhang Just like the N64 days, Nintendo is getting that wrestling action.

Yes I know the Gamecube and I believe Wii got some wrestling titles but it was the N64 for me as that was Nintendo's heyday in this genre.

Day one for me!

Should I feel bad that I haven't played a WWE game since the N64 days? This is going to be a big jump for me.

I honestly couldn't care less about these games, but I'm glad it's coming. The more big third party games, the better.

@Ryu_Niiyama No you shouldn't be at all. Specially if you liked playing it back then. Like I said this one would be my first time playing a WWE game on a console since the PlayStation One. That was the time I loved and played WWF games all the time and have fond memories. I still remember my last WWE game on PlayStation One being WWF Smackdown 2 : Know Your Role which was basically the last WWF games for the console and I didn't immediately upgrade to next gen consoles for years and in that time frame i fell apart with WWF games. So this is homecoming. I'm getting this!

@FragRed Let those games keep coming. Switch gen is going to be fun hope it's the console that puts Nintendo back on the map.

Confirmed to not be from the last gen versions. It's the PS4/X1 version. Also fully featured (did anyone expect anything less after Take Two set the bar with NBA 2k18?).

I haven't played a wrestling game since the N64 myself. So I'm all in for WWE 18. We need to step up and start buying 3rd party games (not just the indies) to see more of them, particularly when they go out of their way to offer current gen parity and same day release.

If you guys are expecting 2K17 to be anything like the N64 wrestling games you all are going to be disappointed. The last WWE games have been some of the worst to date.

I've known these games aren't exactly like the arcady wrestling games of old, and a lot of people have disliked the modes omitted since WWE 15, but it still seems like a good game, particularly for Switch gamers. And not just for the nostalgia of wrestling on a Nintendo platform, but quick matches are good for portable play while the depth of the full game can be enjoyed while docked- or on extended handheld sessions, and being a multiplayer game is perfect for Switch.

Noted Changes
My Career mode is getting a complete overhaul, there’s a new 8-man tag match for local and online play, a new online multiplayer mode called “Road To Glory”, a retooled Universe Mode, and an expanded creation area. The commentary team is getting an overhaul to feature Michael Cole, Byron Saxton and Corey Graves. The backstage area will triple in size and give more variety for areas to fight in, along with more objects you can interact with. Featured matches like the Elimination Chamber and Royal Rumble have been revamped and redesigned and the ability to share and trade online.
