Topic: Who owned a wii u before getting a switch.

I was wondering who on this forum had a wii u before buying a switch. They say the switch sold 1.5 million roughly in its first week. I want to see if there are a lot of people that have "switched" from never having a wii u to getting a switch. 1.5 million doesnt show the console will be a success in the long run but I think if there are a lot of new consumers who didnt have a wii u that might be a good indicator of what the future has in store. I never owned a wii u and I will be buying a switch later this year probably after I see what they have in store for e3.

Still have games I need to finish on my Wii U such as Xenoblade, Paper Mario, and that Fire Emblem crossover one. Hardware was crap but had great games.

Got a Wii U at launch and it's my favorite and most played console between that and XB1 and PS4.

I have a Wii U and my brother got a Switch... I will eventually but nothing right now I have to play on Switch.

Bought the Wii U day one. Thoroughly enjoyed the Wii and wanted to be in on the U from the very beginning.

I own a WiiU and I won't be getting a Switch. Actually, I think I might switch to Sony next year, but for now I'm okay with the WiiU.

I own and love my Wii U, and will most likely end up booting it back up sometime in the future, but for the time being I have switched to my newest favorite Nintendo console...the almighty Nintendo Switch!!!

Got a Wii U early last year to play Mario Maker, damn that game was fun. Got Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros U, both Zelda remakes, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Hyrule Warriors, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Wii Party U, Nintendo Land and some others, Nintendo pushed out some amazing games for it, which was all I cared for. The co-op play in both Mario games and the party games in Wii Party U and Nintendoland made for some great gaming with my kids. Hope to see a Wii Party U (Switch Party perhaps?) style game and Nintendo Land return for the Switch.

i still think the WiiU had the most FUN games and i still have mine i need to finish wind waker(beat it on the gamecube) and and zelda princes twilight, xenoblade chronicles, yohsi wooly world, and a few others that i play time to time.

Wii U was the first Nintendo home console I did not own.

I got my Switch at a Gamestop midnight launch.

There were def some cool games for the wii u that I hope will make it to the switch. Mario maker being one of them.

Day one WiiU owner, Day one Switch owner. Love both systems...and I have a mountain of backlog on wiiu to finish. I will say that I hope that MK8 Deluxe will be the last port. I've always been of the mindset that if you want to play something you buy what it is on. I don't want to see the Switch library hampered because people didn't want to buy the wiiu but wanted the games (that makes no sense to me but whatever), not my fault you were cheap.

I got a Wii U in late 2013. It was mostly a Bayonetta and Smash machine for me. Since those were the main games I played on there. Got in some Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, Freedom Planet, Shovel Kinight, Earthbound, and some other VC games on there too. I don't play as much as I do with Xbox One/PS4 but I did enjoyed it. I hope the Switch catches on and sales well. I'll get one eventually.

I did. I got mine in July 2015, so not that long ago really.

@shonenjump86 i also hope it catches on but one of the biggest things that irked me about the WiiU was its name, hell when i bought mine the guy at bestbuy did his best to convince me to buy a Wii and save money cause the WiiU according to him was just a added on screen that wasnt needed. Lots of the sales people were either telling people to get other systems "cause they were better" or thought the WiiU was a enhanced Wii. and lots of non hardcore gamers didnt even know what a WiiU was and always thought i was just mis saying the name of the Wii

I own a Wii U and a 3DS. Have lot's of games for both. Unfortunately most are digital downloads. It took some time for me to change to physical. I got the Switch to replace both. It has game cards, it's portable, but can be used with a TV. My plan is to sell my 3DS and Wii U and rely solely on the Switch in the new future.
