Not sure if I can call it 'dead', but I would love the Lost in Blue series to get a new release for Switch.

Legacy of Kain.

It sort of ended on a cliff hanger.

I’d like to see SEGA bring back the Sidewinder series of arcade flight sims developed by Sammy (last released in west as Lethal Skies I/II).

Arcade flight sims have really fallen off the console map after the high point in the 6th Gen, with only Ace Combat (admittedly the best series) being the only real survivor.

Not enough people for Terranigma, or Illusion of Gaia/Time.

Primarily Chibi-Robo, Baten Kaitos and Golden Sun would be the 3 series I'd be most excited to return. The original Chibi-Robo formula has so much untapped potential, it would be a shame to let the IP go to waste. Wario Land would be a nice one as well, Wario Land 3 is one of my favourite platformers.

This is a super controversial one but... Elder Scrolls yes I know we have elder Scrolls online but we haven't had an elder Scrolls single player game for 10 years so I class as a dead franchise/ game.

But Elder Scrolls 6 was announced 3 years ago. It'll probably still take a while, but it's on the way, so the franchise isn't dead.

For a feasible idea, Pushmo (or Stretchmo for PAL). It's had a good number of releases, including a console release on Wii U, and never relied on the dual screen for it or 3DS. Nothing would hold it back f i were on Switch, and Intelligent Systems is doing well, so it's just a matter of when they feel like creating a new game... or at least porting previous entries.

For a less feasible idea, Eternal Darkness. I like the rare dark and more serious Nintendo title, and Eternal Darkness sounds like a game with a unique premise that tackles a genre they haven't touched since, barring Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water. Not sure who would make it though, and since Nntendo's never cared much for horror, I can't see it happening.

I know it was but it's been 3 years and they said that they are waiting for the tech before they make it which could.mean anything it's also why I said it's controversial because it's technically not a dead franchise but the lack of game releases makes it dead imo

Rocket Knight Adventures with Sparkster looking like in the first game, not his grim face from the sequel.
Then I'd like to see a new Earthworm Jim game that'll be released on more platforms than the Amico.

Since January 2021 owner of my first real Nintendo "home" console.

Professor Layton. I'm sure they were intending to make a sequel to Layton's Mystery Journey because there were a couple of mysteries set up at the beginning of the game then almost completely ignored until a brief mention of them still being unsolved at the end, but I don't know if that will still happen, at least outside of Japan, now that Level-5's American HQ has been shut down.

I'm frustrated by how little demand there is for a new Viewtiful Joe! I would love to see that series make a comeback!

@Dogorilla The anime explains the relationship between Kariellet and Hershel and Hershel's whereabouts. Not out in English sadly. Still hoping for more Layton games too, maybe Level 5 would let Nintendo handle the console releases like they did with the DS and 3DS games

@Tobiaku Oh, interesting, I haven't seen that. Is there anywhere to watch it with subtitles?

@Dogorilla You can probably find it online, I got the Japanese blu rays and watched it in Japanese without subs.

Murasame Castle. It’s sad that the only attempt to bring it back was Samurai Warriors 3.

It's a PC franchise, but I would love to see a third Freedom Force game. The first two were terrific, fans loved them, they were critically acclaimed, but unfortunately the second one sold poorly and very nearly bankrupted developer Irrational Games who had self-published the title with the hopes of going fully independent. They went on to team up with publisher 2K to create the highly successful BioShock franchise, so the story has a happy ending, but they never returned to Freedom Force, which is a shame.
