Topic: Where is Netflix?

I have been asking myself, "why isn't Netflix on switch after all these years?" And to be honest I couldn't tell you, but I do think that the majority of switch owners and the Nintendo company would definitely benefit and get more user if Netflix was added to the available apps. So I as an adamant Nintendo gamer and switch owner PLEASE GIVE US NETFLIX.

Personally, I gave up waiting for it. Netflix was a standard on Wii U and 3DS, and I used them there for many years, so I do find it surprising it's not on Switch. Especially with other streaming apps like Hulu, YouTube, and Crunchyroll being on Switch. Ended up just getting a Roku just to have streaming on my TV, my bedroom TV isn't a smart TV.

Though, I do use YouTube on Switch. Mostly for gaming related YouTube videos and live streams, or digital movies I have on my Movies Anywhere account (I have YouTube linked to it, I usually get digital movies with their DVD/Blu-Ray copy).

I watched Netflix on Wii for ages. Now I rely on roku. Though in hotels I watch YouTube on Switch because it's all I have. It would definitely be handy to have Netflix on Switch, but I've also given up waiting.

I guess one issue is... why just Netflix? It used to be almost the only thing, but now there are like 20 popular streaming services and 100 more medium ones. I can understand Nintendo not wanting to deal with all that.

With Smart tvs pretty much standard now it's kinda of pointless to have apps like Netflix on a game console. If you want Netflix on the go well, that's what phone have become now.

@Tasuki phones have smallllll screens. Switch is nice on the go because it's bigger.

@FishyS : And phones have craptastic battery life too. It's all well and good to sell phones as an "all in one" device until your music player + video player + GPS + gaming device is bled dry.

And I'd rather do all of those things on devices that won't be interrupted constantly with notifications and phone calls. Perhaps I'm a little old-fashioned in that I mostly use separate devices for most of those functions.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

And on topic, that would be a question for Netflix and the plethora of other streaming devices. I very much doubt that there's anything on Nintendo's end hindering it. It's almost shocking that there aren't any major streaming apps on Switch given its market dominance.

Watch films on a tiny screen? It's okay on my tablet, but not something as small as the Switch

@Rambler It's a billion times better than on a phone. If I'm stuck in a hotel room I'll take what I can get and Switch it is... at least for YouTube or Crunchyroll.

@FishyS
Oh very much so. For me, I've tried watching stuff on a screen that size, and it's just too small. 10" seems to work for me (plus then I have my kindle files, magazine subs, chess/backgammon/go, etc)

I really just want Discord and Spotify. I’m thinking since the switch patent a few months ago showed off a clam shell two screen device, that’ll there will be more of these apps on switch 2.

Ask Nintendo to add Netflix on the Nintendo Switch, or ask Netflix to.

@LinkxPeach You do understand that just hosting a NetFlix app cost money $$$. NetFlix isn't about to just give a app out for free they will want something from Nintendo to use their App or Creating a App will cost Nintendo money to use it. It's not a free app if it comes from Netflix they will want some compensation for making a Nintendo app.

That’s okay. I okay with Nintendo adding the Netflix App on the Nintendo Switch.

@LinkxPeach Yo A Link Between Streams! I've pretty much given up hope of a Switch Netflix app lol. 🤣

I’m not sure if Nintendo will make a new Zelda game on the Nintendo Switch after LoZ: Tears of the Kingdom.

It doesn't provide revenue source for Nintendo so why would they do.
