@Bass_X0 The video's not working, but I did Google it after you mentioned it and it does claim to allow you to play with all kinds of controllers on the Switch. Hey, if it works, it works!
@SwitchForce It is a legitimate issue. $65-70 for a controller is quite a steep price. Not everyone has that kind money sitting around to spend freely.
The 8bitdo is an amazing option if you have other controllers laying around. If not, I would get the cheap wired Hori controller with the turbo button. Its a ten foot wired cord so you have some room.

And yet here we are buying a NS @299.99+tax-that logic doesn't fly nor pass the smell test. I saved up to buy it and never looked back. Oh btw I sold my two Pro and got Splaton and Xenx Pro version controller.
@SwitchForce You have a very strange mindset. Imagine getting the Switch in the first place was a big stretch for someone, or imagine someone was gifted the Switch and otherwise does not presently have any income coming in (me).
Just because someone could initially make purchasing a Switch work (or were gifted one) absolutely does not mean that they can throw out $70 for a controller. It's a really high price for a controller, and it's only natural that someone who is strapped for money but wants a more regular controller than the Joy Cons is certainly going to be looking for a cheaper alternative.
There are up and coming 3rd controller maker but if you want Rumble or specific features only to Nintendo OEM controllers your choices are already made for you.
1. Use OEM Nintendo Controller
2. Use 3rd controller and loose some functional abilities
3. Want NS either choose 1 and or 2 and that is that.
4. Price shouldn't factor into this.
I guess I’m weird in that I prefer my Pro for some games, and dual-wielding separated Joy-Cons for others.
No problem with that. To each their own. I just never enjoyed much of anything using the Wii Remote, even as a controller without the motion control. So when I saw the Joy Cons I was instantly like "Nope". I am most happy with full controllers with all of the buttons I have come to know over all of the years.

Actually some gameing factor increase with the Joy-Cons separated and adds to the fun factor. Some just plays better with separate joy-cons. Gets the couch potato out of the couch.
