Nintendo delivered everything I wanted with the 2 Metroid games and the Pokemon being developed for Switch confirmation.

Sony did leave me a bit disappointed since I wanted to get more details about The Last of us 2 and Death Stranding, but I kinda expected it.

And Pikmin Worlds, but I'm sure we'll see more in a direct later. The former is a suped up version a 3DS game, the latter would probably get lost in the sea of announcements.

But overall, some more unexpected surprises would've been nice. At least a left-field one. I guess that was Mario + Rabbids, and now I remembered the meaning of "out of left field"...

I am very disappointed by Nintendo's E3.

1. I am impatiently waiting for the Virtual Console! I was hoping the update would be ready as soon as the show starts, but instead we got nothing. Not even a release window!

2. Nobody bought the Wii U and the Switch can easily handle its games! Where TF are all the last-gen ports? Mario 3D Worlds, Paper Mario, Donkey Kong, Smash, Captain Toad, ... so many amazing games that nobody actually played. Please bring them to Switch already!!

3. Third Party Support is underwhelming. Apparently the Tegra chip is easy to program for so ports should be very easy to do. Rocket League is a good start, but where are Doom, Dragon Quest Builders, Ni No Kuni (1+2), Dragon Ball Fighters, etc.? The Switch could be a perfect console, just needs some better support and I am not talking about Amiibo or useless motion controls (Skyrim). I am also dying to see what Dragon Quest XI will look like. I fear it's a half-assed port.

4. The new announcements are ok, nothing that get me hyped. Metroid should be cool but we have seen zero material so far. Yoshi and Kirby look more like Indie titles to me, although I'm sure I'll enjoy them. Rabbids is not for me.

I'm with Masurao - I'd have loved to see some of the SMT title in development for Switch. A tease of the next Fire Emblem too (not Warriors) would also have been great. For all that, the only thing I truly wanted and didn't get was the Switch's VC.

That said, I think Nintendo really delivered: Kirby, Mario, Yoshi, the weird Rabbids SRPG, a new Pokémon, and Metroid Prime 4 as the icing on the cake.

The main thing I wanted was a few more multi-platform games on the Switch like Injustice 2, Marvel Vs Capcom, WWE 2K18 and Telltale Games etc which I think would be good fits.

A Switch port of Persona and Danganronpa would have been nice too.

OK, well my big one is Sony - did they even show up at E3? ..I barely noticed. As a PS4 owner, I was hoping for a lot more - frankly, there was nothing new to get excited about & even the games I already knew about kinda fell flat...huge disappointment.

As for Nintendo, it was mostly what I expected - a sizzle-reel of 2017 games, a couple of surprise reveals (Rocket League baby!) - and the teases of Pokémon and Metroid Prime 4 were great to see! ..I'd have liked to see some firmer release dates nailed down across the board - specifically for the Nindies I've been waiting for - and, if I'm being hyper-critical, I kind of hoped for at least one more big third-party game than we got...but, all in all, 2017's Switch line-up already looks pretty great from start to finish - so I'm glad some things, on the first-party end at least (Animal Crossing, Smash Bros. etc.), are being held back...if we got everything in year 1, year 2 would be a pretty barren affair! I think we've got more than enough to tide us over for now

I was hoping for a No More Heroes 3 trailer and a Smash Deluxe remake. But what they actually revealed was a lot better, so I'm not to disappointed about it.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

Animal Crossing for Switch !!

But no Amiibo Festival DX.

It amazes me how many people are really disappointed because Nintendo's big reveals weren't re-releases of a load of pre-existing games that can already be played right now. I didn't get through many Wii U games so would probably pick a few up in 'DX' form, and I would love a portable Gamecube, but if I were THAT desperate to play Gamecube or Wii U games I would just, you know, pick up a Gamecube or Wii U.

Overall I was really pleased with their day 1 announcements. Maybe at least one big 3rd party game would have been nice - that rumoured BG&E2 exclusive for instance. I am hoping that at some point in a Treehouse or wherever they do cover some Switch software updates and so on as I would like to be able to organise my homescreen games and move around saved data etc. If this was in a post-E3 Direct though I would be fine with that.

I still think Nintendo will be very aware of spacing out games, if the Switch is to last 5 years then front loading titles is a terrible idea!

Switch games list,

Legend of Zelda BotW, Human resource machine, NBA Playgrounds, Street Fighter 2, Super Bomberman R, Snipperclips, Overcooked, World of Goo.

1. VC will be a direct of its own I expect.
2. Just the Nintendo Fanbois - the guys that also bought the Switch Day 1.
3. After the WiiU I expect they are playing wait and see, it takes more than a few weeks to port a game.
4. Accept not everything will be aimed at you??

Switch games list,

Legend of Zelda BotW, Human resource machine, NBA Playgrounds, Street Fighter 2, Super Bomberman R, Snipperclips, Overcooked, World of Goo.

I know it was a long shot, but a new fully fleshed out F-Zero game. Crazy we didn't see one on the Wii or Wii U, thought this might be the right time. Got lucky with getting two Metroid games, but I would have lost it if we had a new F-Zero too.

@Linkuya I want to see an extremely difficult F Zero game, that is, one with a hyper fast Pro league.

Thats all I want from it, Custom vehicles, an offline league system with the speed upping each time and online cups.

Switch games list,

Legend of Zelda BotW, Human resource machine, NBA Playgrounds, Street Fighter 2, Super Bomberman R, Snipperclips, Overcooked, World of Goo.

Virtual Console and Smash Bros mainly. I also had my fingers crossed for a deluxe version of Mario Maker, but the games that were shown off all look really awesome so that'll keep me going in the mean time

Wii U ports and surely Virtual Console talk.

Wii U ports are generally not interesting enough to be talking about a good year in advance. They'll probably come but they're going to announce them at fairly short notice. It's the sort of release that they're going to use to pad out gaps in their lineup. There's no reason why they should release something like Smash Bros for Switch alongside Odyssey especially when they're struggling to keep units on shelves.

Virtual Console? If they talk about it it'll be during the treehouse. Same with any of the talk of online some people seem to be wanting. The Spotlight and day 1 of the treehouse aren't really the best places for it.

So I guess there is still a chance VC will be discussed today or tomorrow?

Smash but seeing Nintendo basically confirm Metroid is still alive more than makes up for it.

I was honestly expecting to hear something about DragonQuest 10 during the spotlight. Really hope they're not trying to keep it as a Japanese-only thing yet again - I'll be so p***ed off as this will have been the second time it's happened.

Bringing it over to the west before the end of 2017 would be a very good move!

Never take anything I say seriously. S'all you buddy. ;)
Mainly play on my Switch but I have 3DS, Wii U and PS4 as well.
Fave game series include: Pokemon, Smash Bros, Splatoon, Disgaea, Bayonetta, Dragons Dogma, Phantasy Star & Arena of Valor.

I didn't however expect Pokemon, Rocket League or two Metroid games.

Ditto Animal Crossing is my favorite game series next to Mario. But I'm glad they didnt show anything because I remember AC fans waiting for quite awhile for New Leaf to come out after it was first announced and shown. I can only imagine the amount of man hours and time that's going to be put into a bigger console version.

I was surprised by all those games you mentioned too, rocket league is going to be a huge success on the Switch no doubt.

I was also surprised that there was no mention if a smash bros port.
