Loving that Suikoden announcement! I’ve been treating my ps1 copies like gold. Any ports to modern systems I am all over.

@JaxonH Oh nice. Although if there's not one game that fans generally consider to be best in the series I suppose it can't hurt to start with the first game.
Not that I need any more JRPGs to play at this point x_x
@BruceCM No, I'm not even sure I'll get through the whole Ryza series even if I'm into it tbh. That's sorta the point (i.e. if I can only play one game, is it worth going with the first or skipping it?)
@Buizel
Series fans will probably tell you Sophie 2 is the best (the one that released 6 months ago). Ryza series was sort of... dumbed down, for lack of a better phrase, to appeal to a wider audience. Less focus on deep crafting, more focus on exploration, it changes the more traditional turn based battle system to real time. But if you're not part of the core fanbase, that might be what you enjoy more.
Honestly, Atelier Ryza 3 looks notably better than the previous 2, imo. We won't know for sure until it releases, but I'm really digging the larger scope and new traversal options, and flashier combat.

@Anti-Matter
Fae Farm is legitimately a game I'm interested in.
The more I play Harvestella demo, the more I realize it's not as deep as I was expecting. Combat isn't as interesting either. It looks nice and the music is good and audio is high quality, but the game isn't as fun as I was hoping. There's also hardly any voice-over.
It's not a bad game by any means, but it's not the exceptional farm sim with RPG combat I was looking for.
I think my sights are now set on Rune Factory 3 Special, and Fae Farm.

@BruceCM@JaxonH thanks both. I'm well aware of the extent of the Atelier series and it's...intimidating, to say the least xD. Does any series have more entries on Switch than Atelier?
Ryza being "dumbed down" actually does sound appealing to me as an entry point. I guess I'll see how 3 pans out and see if I fancy diving in to that or one of the earlier entries when the time comes.
Didn’t realize that DQX:O is going to add version two next year. I wonder if they will do an expansion a year. I’m hoping for two a year now that the base game is out but I am cool with the content as is.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Direct is the only presentation this week that stuck. Like no one talks about the games in the State of Play anymore because it's all about the public argument between Jim Ryan and Phil Spencer about the future of CoD instead.
Remember how Persona 5 Royal was in the Japanese Direct but not the English one for whatever reason? Just to make things even weirder, an English trailer's just been posted there.
I think the thing that impresses me the most about this trailer is how similar it looks to the PS4 version. Yeah, P5 is by all definitions a PS3 game at it's base level but Royal is still made specifically for PS4 so to see it looking damn near identical across both is really damn cool.
Also, I'm not sure whether it was already confirmed for October 21st but just in case it wasn't: here you go.

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core: Reunion on Switch is apparently runs at full 60fps and native 720p in handheld, with only slight dynamic res drops that can't even be noticed outside of cutscenes.
We had a chance to play both the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions of the game during our recent trip to Square Enix’s pre-Tokyo Games Show press event. While the PlayStation 5 version certainly ran well - it looks to be 4K60 - what’s far more interesting is the state of the Nintendo Switch release. It retains most of the graphical enhancements of the full PlayStation 5 release, maintains a smooth 60 FPS, and targets 720p in handheld mode. Even with dips, it still never drops to a low enough resolution to be noticeable outside of cutscenes.
