@Grumblevolcano Given the typical 4-5 year development cycle this gen, there's a very decent chance of MonolithSoft's project coming out in 2022, given the initial listing was late 2017. We do know that it likely was also under both COVID and BotW2 related delays.
Fully expecting a Yoshi's Woolly World port in 2023. Not sure why but people always seem to forget about that game when talking about Wii U ports even though it's a pretty major game. It's not like Splatoon or Smash where the Switch entries made the Wii U ones redundant; Woolly World and Crafted World can coexist on Switch.
It did get a 3DS release though. But for that you'd have to say it'd be a nailed on certainty but I think the existence of the 3DS version puts a question mark over it.
Great game though!
I'd love to see Donkey Kong Returns HD come to Switch. Again the 3DS version probably somehow makes it less likely (even though the 3DS has effectively been dead for 4 or 5 years now).
@StuTwo So did Hyrule Warriors, and that still made its way to Switch despite the 3DS version getting a whole season pass of content that the Wii U original didn't.
I think the difference is, supply constraints on Switch are diminishing it from 28m to 24m, after 2 revised forecasts. Whereas other consoles are looking at 16m due to harder to manufacture chips.
To be sure, everyone is affected. But Nintendo is... less so, I would say. I guess it depends how you look at it. They're short at least 4 mil this year, and perhaps that's a larger impact than anyone else. But, at least nominally, they're still able to see higher throughput annually due to easier to manufacture chips, and the fact they're sourcing through Nvidia rather than AMD like everyone else, and are thus Nvidia's #1 priority customer, with little competition from other devices using chips from the same process.
They just barreled through 100 million like it was the starting line rather than the finish- I've never seen a console hit that milestone with such velocity and momentum. As long as they're able to maintain 20m+ in 2022, they're well on their way to the record books.

Finished the first SMT V Circle now and plan to do at least one more run to get that secret ending before putting it down for a longer period. This was seriously my highlight of the year on the Switch, can't believe how much i liked it at the end.
On a different note, i just started the first Danganronpa and am positively blown away at the trials after a bit of a slow start, so excited and barely started this game. I wonder how hard the cases are gonna get from here on out

Finally grabbed this for analog triggers in Trials Rising. I've put hundreds of hours into that game, and have worked my way through the game from scratch 4 separate times across multiple platforms and versions of Switch. Figured it's time to invest in a wireless controller with analog triggers. And the only one that fits the bill and is compatible, is the Wavebird.

@1UP_MARIO
I was very selective when choosing one to buy off eBay. Wanted to get one brand new but those were way too expensive. This one was $70 shipped, but in such good condition I was OK with that.
Bet a good cleaning would get yours pretty sparkly though. And, can always replace the analog sticks if needed.

Well, I suppose it's time to call myself a hypocrite. I swore up and down about how I wasn't going to buy a SWOLED. That only sheep need apply. However, the onboard memory for my V2 has now dipped below 2GB due to the numerous save files from my Switch game collection. And I have that $200 gift card just begging to be used.
Ahem. Baaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh! Excuse me, sorry.
It's simple really. I blame Nintendo for making this platform that quickly became my all-time favorite console. -sigh- The road to hell is paved with broken joy-cons that suffer from drift.

@JaxonH Do Wavebird's still get made nowadays? And could you use them on something like the Switch that recognizes Gamecube controllers (more or less)?

People's views and opinions evolve over time. And I think the appeal of the OLED has slowly built its case over the last several months. Whatever your reasons, it's a great system. You'll understand once it's in hand. That screen and kickstand is so good, it's just begging for tabletop play.
@Ralizah
Well, what they don't tell you is, motion aiming for games that support it (which is basically none). From my understanding, it simply adds the missing gyroscope and accelerometer, and is detected as a Switch Pro controller on Switch (and probably should stick with Switch mode for Steam as well, since that can have mouse mapped to the gyroscope). So basically, it's not adding gyro to games that don't have it, it's imply adding the functionality to the controller for the games that support it, on whatever platform that may be. There is a device that maps analog to gyro but it's crap. Analog doesn't map to gyro well and the feels off. That's how they get those mouse and keyboard sets for consoles to work.
But ya, the models for Xbox One had their own rechargeable battery, only a few hours unless you got the larger XL. This one runs off the controller battery. That's why I bought the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, because it's the only one with a built in rechargeable battery. Though I do have a Series X controller on the way also with a play and charge kit.
It basically makes Xbox controller have gyro. Idk how much that's worth, since Dualsense and Switch Pro already can do that, but if you're a fan of the Xbox controller, or the level of customization offered by the Elite controller, it's a win. Plus, some older PC games only have buttons mapped to Xbox, so using an Xbox controller is less cumbersome, and now you don't have to sacrifice gyro for it.
That is... assuming it works well without lag. I'll report back once mine arrives alongside an Xbox controller.
@Fizza
Not official ones, no. Only the corded GC controllers for Smash, and 3rd party controllers. Most of the GC controllers aren't actually GC controllers though. They're Switch Pro controllers designed to look like a GC controller. Which means no analog triggers. If you want wireless analog triggers, it's either Wavebird or a knockoff Wavebird, which are still being sold cheap and new on Amazon.
Only games recognizing it and utilizing the analog triggers on Switch, afaIk, are GRID Autosport, Super Mario Sunshine and Trials Rising. So its only really worth it if you're into one of those games. It'll work on every game, but not with analog triggers, and it'll be missing key buttons like Home, Capture, ZL, R3 and L3.
