Same here, only problem is I have multiple microSD because they still haven't released 2TB cards yet. So cartridge slot is occupied. I do have my original Switch set up in the basement for Ring Fit, but truth is I'd use it more if I had it in my room.
I haven't had any issues with the slot either, and I keep my nails really short. Feels about the same as the Vita cartridge flap.
Be sure to put tempered glass on the screen. It may already be glass but that thin anti-shatter film can easily scratch.
Yeah, no nails here either but no problems!
Also, I had a real issue finding a screen protector on the island but I eventually found one by some company called FR Tec, a tempered glass one. I got my Dad to put it on and I think he’s done a pretty good job. The bits off the screen and like on the bezel almost look like they aren’t stuck down properly but it doesn’t go on any better so not sure what happened there. Maybe if you were really OCD it’d bother you, but it’s no issue for me. What is more annoying is the protector seems to be an absolute fingerprint magnet, way more than the exposed screen on my old Switch.
Oh, and I am honestly enjoying Ring Fit a lot, I am not using it as much as I should, but once the new year starts and I am back to working again my life will have more structure to give me a proper Ring Fit routine.
@Pizzamorg
A good tempered glass screen protector will make fingerprints wipe off super easy thanks to the oleophobic coating.
The amFilm are really good for that, and the iVoler 4 pack with alignment frame. Some claim to have a coating but don't, or the coating is cheap and sucks. But ya. If it becomes too much of a problem, I'd try a different brand. Lots to choose from on Amazon. Just read the reviews to get a feel for what the complaints are, and whether they're something you care about or not.

New OLED Switch owner here, bought it like 3 weeks ago after having V2 model for about 2 years. I have been really satisfied, but I just noticed a big problem, which is not limited to the OLED model but to changing Switches in general. Playtime is not transferred between different devices. Not on the user profile info neither on the game selection menu if you sort the games through playtime.
I know this may not be an issue to some, but I love my data and my numbers, and it was very enjoyable to see how many hours I have poured in each game, sort of like a memory album. And it buffles me how Nintendo couldn't get it right, they keep all our info on their servers, is it that hard to add the playtimes from 2 different consoles? It's little things like this that piss me off with Nintendo, even though they are my favourite console and games company.
My playtime has transferred over with no issues, but I did a full transfer and wiped my old Switch so maybe that makes a difference? Pokemon Shield + DLC remains my number one at 70 plus hours. Did that all within a couple of weeks in November too, loved that game.
For Pokémon Shield I also transferred the data because the game doesn't support cloud saves, but for all of the other games I just downloaded the save data from the cloud, and then made a factory reset to my old Switch.
Oh okay, yeah I didn’t manually download, I used the transfer tool in the options. You put the Switch’s close to each other and it transfers your data from one Switch to another. You have to manually redownload your games and move over SD cards/carts, but everything else will be as you left it on the other Switch.
@alexwolf
Ya, unless you transfer your profile, playtimes reset on new system. But if you enable Parental Controls and download the parental controls app, it records playtime across all systems, fyi.

Damn, wish I knew this earlier, this sucks. Thanks for the information! So, if you transfer the user directly to the new switch, do you get the same playtime in both user data and regular menu selection, if you sort through playtime?
Yeah, it literally just transfers you exactly where you left off, like a bookmark.
Also, kinda surprised, but one of the most noticeable “upgrades” from that OLED screen is Loop Hero. Both on the old Switch, my Ipad and on this TV I am using the game appears very crushed, lacking a lot of finer details. Playing it on the OLED for the first time, it was almost like a new game, with a whole world of details now visible to me for the very first time. I now would rather play it in handheld than anywhere else.
@alexwolf
Idk about regular menu selection or sorting. Only playtime I'm aware of is in your profile.
But ya, transfer your profile if you want the playtimes, just know you'll lose them on your old system.

@Grumblevolcano
You think Switch will be last in the UK this December? Idk how it usually fares there, as it seems to be their weakest market, but there was this on Black Friday:
Switch outsold its competition over the past week with its strong sales. According to GamesIndustry’s Christopher Dring, “Xbox Series S was in (a very distant) second place”.
Maybe it has a shot at finally taking top of the UK market? Or at least, not coming in last.

@JaxonH In December Microsoft introduced a Fortnite + Rocket League Series S bundle which came with ingame currency and cosmetics for both games. In the past, Fortnite console bundles have done well so I think that'll give Series S a boost. As for PS5 (both models) and Series X, a load of stock came in (you can still buy them now) so I think it all comes down to timing. Either the timing was just right and there's a large sales boost or the timing was too late and the reason there's still stock is that people bought a Switch instead.
So I kinda forgot I owned SPLATOON 2 until I did the transition over to my OLED. I’ve been doing some online battles and as someone who usually sucks at these sorts of games, I am having a lot of fun. Gyro feels really good and the balance between objective and just killing each other is probably the best I have seen. I just hope I unlock some new game modes and maps eventually?
I will say, I kinda wish there was a more extensive tutorial right there in the lobby, rather than fragmented all over the place. It didn’t take me too long to understand what I needed to do and got stuck into the level/gear grind, but I still don’t know when my next unlock is coming or whether I’ll be eventually able to unlock things I currently have limited options in (like hair styles or lower body stuff for example). It’d be nice if it told you like in other online games exactly what you can access as you level up, so you can set goals. I mean it may do somewhere else, but like I say, this game seems quite fragmented in terms of where information is sourced.
Oh and considering I am at the opening levels, it seems crazy how long it takes to level up. I am generally always first or second place, but still somehow only get dribbles of XP.
@Pizzamorg
Biggest thing to keep in mind with Splatoon 2 is, it's a Nintendo game first and foremost, and as such, won't follow the typical blueprint you're used to with 3rd party games of the genre.
They really prioritize gameplay above all else. Ya, there's customization, but it's not a lot. I mean, it was enough to satisfy me, but it's not gonna be like a Halo game or anything like that. There are shops, and gear rotates in and out of the shops over time. Just keep an eye peeled for stuff you like.
Also, the amiibo unlock some cool stuff if you have access to them. Can't remember what, but I remember it was quality.
The 3 main modes are single player campaign (and the optional Octo expansion), Turf Wars and Salmon Run, which is a horde mode. Salmon run is only open 3-4 days a week, so as to ensure enough players are available for that mode when it is open. Turf Wars also get several "modes" such as Ranked and Teams- the serious players do Ranked, but it's too high stress for me. Those kids using gyro aiming will pack your butt in a box and ship you overseas. It's crazy how good they are.
Most players grind for the perfect gear set stacking skills. There is a diminishing effect of skills being stacked, but an increasing advantage as a skill gets stacked higher, so many opt for all one skill on their sets. Not sure if it's advantageous to take that approach or diversify, guess that's up to you.
But ya, just enjoy the ride. You'll get plenty of opportunity to buy gear with quality skills as you progress. And find the right gun you like. They're all so different. Splattershot has short range but wide spray, roller is really good, Sniper rifle can be dangerous when used properly... there's so much fun to be had.

The single player campaign acts well as a tutorial for the multiplayer
Ranked Battle is locked until you reach level 10, until then the only multiplayer mode available is Turf War
Stages (and modes in the case of Ranked Battle) alternate every 2 hours with each 2 hour slot having 2 specific maps in a specific game mode (e.g. Rainmaker on Starfish Mainstage and Kelp Dome followed by Tower Control on Wahoo World and Piranha Pit 2 hours later)
Level up gives you Super Sea Slugs when you speak to Judd (there's an exclamation mark in the plaza that shows you who to talk to) and level up also unlocks new weapons to purchase
The money you earn by playing matches is used to purchase weapons and clothing in the various shops in the plaza. Clothing present in the shops rotate after a certain amount of time (I don't know how long)
I’ve been focusing on using the gun type you start with, as I got an upgraded version that comes with seeker grenades and a special which rains paint down on a wide area, I feel like it’s sealed a few games for us.
Haven’t seen too many interesting perks on gear yet, but I like making builds, so I guess I’ll see what I get as I go.
Shame to hear though that Turf War is the only game mode, seems like it’d get really repetitive after a while.
