I'm not offended in the slightest, and I said nothing about your "intelligence". Idk what you're talking about. Like, at all.
What "attitude"??? You're imagining things my guy. There was no "attitude". NONE.
I'm just correcting misconceptions, and you are getting bent out of shape over it. You made an incorrect statement and I clarified that is not the case. How do you make the logical leap from there, to... "attitude, intelligence, offended"

@JaxonH I guess it depends on how you view it. I don't see willful ignorance as an "information deficit." They don't care if the information is there. There's not a lack of information. There's a lack of willingness to engage with information that would challenge biases and preconceptions they don't care to interrogate.
But, you know, you'll get someone who is genuinely information deprived every once in a while, and they'll appreciate your candidness. It's that way with any sort of evangelism.

@Ralizah
I think most ppl are resistant to change. I mean let's be honest, we all are. Because we all think we're right. Our beliefs are a construct of opinions we've formed over the years, so by the very definition we think our beliefs are correct, otherwise we wouldn't hold them.
There are some who genuinely don't mind having their beliefs challenged, but most take offense at the notion one of their beliefs could be incorrect or not optimal.
So I do agree a big issue is convincing ppl to challenge their beliefs, and that's not easy. Because ppl will selectively confirm their bias with all kinds of information, be it valid or not. And I'm not saying this in a condescending way- again, we're all susceptible to this. Anyone who says otherwise is being disingenuous.
I still think the more those presuppositions and biases are challenged though, the more likely it is a person will, at some point, decide to reassess. At the very least, misconceptions should be corrected as opposed to letting them run rampant, unchecked and unchallenged.
The "flailing your arms about" thing should have died years ago. But there's just not enough users of gyro speaking up and challenging those claims to counter the spread of such misinformed opinions.

@Pizzamorg I think yes, I am in Greece and I ordered the slim model from the binbok site, costed about 52€ with transportation cost included and took about 3 weeks to arrive.
@JaxonHturns green Urp...for what little bit of that I could watch, that was pretty fast...but also proof that my monocular self still can't handle first person view in games with a lot of movement. So glad I have not eaten yet. My head and my stomach hurts. That being said I do like gyro for things that don't make my head explode, like BOTW. Pretty much the reason why I'm in the "I liked the shrines" camp.

Remember those old HD ready TVs? I found a 24 inch one at my Dads and hooked my Switch up to it. The good thing about the Switch being optimised usually for 720p/30 is by linking it to this TV, I get all the benefits of the handheld performance but just on a bigger screen. When I try and hook up my Switch to my 4K 120hz TV at home, I just think it blows up the Switch too much and really exposes the low resolution/low fps parts (like Three Houses for example is practically unplayable docked for me), but BOTW looks as good/runs as well in handheld as it does on this HD ready TV I found. Very nice.
Three Houses is a little rough and pixelated, but that's not even close to being unplayable to me. I can deal with imperfect visuals. As long as the framerate is playable and the resolution isn't consistently sub-720p, a game is playable on the tv.
I also use m-classic which, while minor, does give games an extra little oomph of smoothness and less jaggies. I actually started noticing jaggies more in handheld for FE than on the TV.

So after I captured the Mastodon, BOTW has gone back to feeling pretty aimless again. All three of the remaining DBs are puzzles in themselves in order to how to get to them. One requires you to pass through great expanses of cold, I assume I can do this by just stocking up on loads of elixirs beforehand but it is so ***** tedious. Another requires you to cross around a volcano where you just set on fire and die almost instantly. Again, I assume some sort of elixir is the answer but again it just feels really ***** tedious. Finally, there is some no boys allowed town I have to find someone to sneak me in, but it is all set in a desert so again I am having to stock up and chain elixirs and it is just again, real tedious. Think I’m gonna just call it for a while. SMT V is almost here, it might be a good way to cleanse the palette so I can go back and face the tedium again.
@Pizzamorg Spoiler alert: Link can change clothes. If it's cold he can put on warm clothes; if it's hot he can put on cool/protective clothes. Where does one normally acquire clothes?
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

I do have a shirt which is apparently supposed to improve my cold resistance, but it doesn’t do anything. I have so far only found two clothes shops in the game and none offer greater amounts of cold resistance/heat resistance. I think three are like just armour sets, one is for sneak. Nothing else discovered yet.
@Pizzamorg
You just gotta play the game. You'll figure it out. I never used an elixir my entire playthrough, except for one time to get far enough up the volcano path I could get some heat armor.
The game is all about figuring out environmental puzzles. There's nothing wrong with elixirs. Plenty of ppl cook meals and elixirs and use them great advantage. Shouldn't be tedious- just eat them and you're good. And there will be times you'll want to do that. Electric enemies and lightning, probably good time to drink an electric elixir. But by no means is that the only way to do something. As was already mentioned, gear provides immunity against environmental effects. That's the key. Sometimes you just have to travel the path a bit and figure out where to obtain it.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is so good.
It looks amazing in native resolution on the OLED Switch. It's got HD rumble, it's widescreen (which I didn't realize but the other versions weren't) and honestly, it looks pretty good in handheld mode. Like, it's an old game- early 2000's, but it looks so much better than that.
GTA San Andreas also looks pretty good in handheld mode. Not as good as KOTOR, but it still looks good. I really appreciate these 6th gen classics being cleaned up and given a modern hybrid release.
It's amazing how good games from 15-20 years ago are compared to modern games. They may not look as pretty, or run as smoothly, and the audio quality might be subpar, but when it comes to fun... they stand shoulder to shoulder with the best of 2021.

"Starting in 2022, Falcom will develop Switch titles internally, starting with the Switch version of The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails."
No offense to NIS, who did an AMAZING job getting this ball rolling, but games will probably run better if they're designed to run on the system to begin with by the original developers.
@IceClimbers 100% agree. It's by far my goty. However, I did play FE3H for the first time this year, and it gives dread a run for its money, but it didn't release in 2021 so...yea. dread should be played by all, such a fluid experience. Tight controls, fast gameplay, great bosses. Perfect game.
@NintendoByNature
Also agree. As the years pass we tend to forget how much we enjoyed a certain game. I recently revisited FETH and ya, it's fantastic.
@Ralizah
All that talk about, "we can't develop for 2 platforms" which we knew was bogus because they developed for Vita and PS4 simultaneously. Turns out, when you actually want to do it, suddenly you're able to manage the resources to make it work.
I agree though. The Vita versions of Trails were excellent. Solid optimization. Cold Steel 3 was a bit rough on Switch without AA, but Cold Steel 4 was much better. I think a different studio handled it and it shows.
