@Pizzamorg Getting to Kakariko village to see Impa is your main goal for now.

You don't have to find the memories to advance the game, but if you find one memory, and see Impa afterward, you will get a good reward(a good piece of armor). I completed finding the memories late in the game, or after I beat the story.

If you're tired of enemies killing you too easily, cook one Hearty Raddish, or one Big Hearty Raddish - they will increase your heart containers temporarily - extremely useful. (When you see Impa in kakariko, she will direct you to the Lab in Hateno village. You'll get helpful things there.👌)

Defeating the 4 Divine Beasts will be your main goal after you see Impa.

Looks like Sony “accidentally” screwed up timing for release of GTA Trilogy remasters. I say “accidentally” because it’s pretty obvious they did it on purpose knowing it’ll spread across social media and they’d hope to get lots of sales that would have gone to Microsoft or to a lesser extent Nintendo (anyone buying on Switch will still buy on Switch regardless).

Oh yeah, I made it there, went to the lab, after going to the lab, they sent me back to Impa and she said I needed to discover at least one memory to progress the game. Have I misunderstood this then? If so, what am I doing then, just bumbling around the map hoping to bump into the four DBs? I was kinda hoping I could find a memory and then the game would go back to being more structured again, but I am worried if that isn’t the case!

Thanks for the tip with the cooking, tossing random ingredients together to make meals is surprisingly fun.

If you see a weird painter person, talk to him. He will help you locate the memories.

The memories are more of an optional quest. But they are important, since they reveal details about what happened 100 years ago, and finding them all gives you a slightly extended ending.

About structure, Impa may have already pointed you in the direction of the Divine Beasts. You can go find them in any order, but each region comes with it's own set of quests you can do and play in order. I'd recommend following the paths in case you don't want to do things out of "order".

But do take your time to explore and have fun, that's the main part of the game!

The painter guy does help, but I still feel I am mostly moving in vague directions (go to the north and then the south east from the castle or something. Like how does that help?). And often on the way of trying to follow these instructions, I stumble into random packs of enemies who just one shot me, so I assume that is the game telling me I am going the wrong way. The only quest marker I can see on the map is taking me back to Impa and she says I need to find at least one memory, there is no marker for any divine beasts to work towards.

So right now, I am just going from shrine to shrine completing those, as they seem to be the only things I can do with no friction.

@Pizzamorg Technically, you don’t have to do it at all. Heck, you can go straight to Gannon once you leave the plateau if you want too.

So I didn’t do it intentionally, but I appear to be back on track again. Found some ripped fish guy called Sidon or something, and now I am hunting down some giant robot elephant fish thing. It is all marked as main quest. Finally got some new gear too, which is cool. Although the combination of cape, hood, blue and silver armour and white slacks is pretty goofy looking.

Also yeah that's Sidon alright.

Oh yeah I met that guy! What silly colour should I go for, should I make it bright yellow? It is a shame I can’t do individual pieces.

Oh wow, great tip! So just go in wearing the piece I want to dye? Noted. I am gonna make myself look like a Rocket Lolly.

@Pizzamorg One of the great features of BOTW is the quest log. You can always open it up, see what quests are open, which you've completed. When you hit (+), you get your items: weapons/armor/food. Press the L shoulder button while in there to see your quest log.

The great thing about the quest log is, it give you so much detail, that if you take a long break from the game, the log tells you enough to get you back up to speed. It will say who you talked to, where, what they said, what you need to do; If you select that quest, the game will show a glowing thumbtack on the map to to show where you need to go for that quest.

I never completed Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time because I took a break from the games and ended up lost, not knowing what to do. So, I was really pleased BOTW seems to have solved that issue with a good quest log.

Thanks for the tip. Looking at my quest log, I think I know where I went wrong now. When you talk to Impa about the Divine Beasts, you have the option to probe her for more info or move the conversation along, which is what I chose, as she was giving me a huge info dump and I wanted time to process everything.

I think even though you have a choice, it is an illusion and you have to probe her for more info to move the quest along based on what the log says. I am gonna boot up the game now and see if that works.

You could realistically never ever visit Impa and still find and conquer the divine beasts and defeat Ganon.

Impa is only really necessary if you wish to do the memories.

Yeah, that did the trick. I went back, spoke to her about the beasts, she gave me some exposition and then marked all of them on my map. I guess that is on me, but couldn’t she have done that without me needing to ask for exposition?

Anyone play Overcooked 2 single player?

Just bought the game in a sale for $8 and change, and all the DLC for like $16 more. Even if it's best in co-op it seems like a fun, popular game. But I'd be interested playing solo

Oh my gosh- Yoku's Island Express is amazing!!! How did I sleep on this game for so long?!!! This is some legit creativity here.

A pinball-mechanic metroidvania with exploration and power ups? The mechanics are super tight and satisfying. Characters incredibly charming. This game is awesome!

Hey Jay! streamed it a few months ago and sold me on it but I was waiting on a sale. It's $5 right now. So I jumped. I would've bought this full price a long time ago if I'd known how good it was.

@JaxonH

Yeah, Yoku's Island Express is a great game, the presentation alone is stunning, let alone the unique gameplay of pinball controls with metroidvania elements. The storytelling is nothing special but pretty fun as well for such a short game.

My only complaints with this game is that due to the scarcity of transportation mechanics, navigation through the world can be very irritating after so many times, because you have to do the same pinball stages again and again. Oh, and that the game is so short, I enjoyed it so much that it left me wanting more...
