I think I'll grab it day one myself (whenever the seller around me open the preorders anyway). Jrpg can be scarce to find after the initial preorder wave.
Switch really needs an arcade Golf game like Mario Golf. I know it has Golf Story (which I've heard nothing but good things about), but as vain & shallow as it sounds, I'm holding out for something 3D.
Hopefully MG isn't too far behind Tennis Aces, or another developer has something similar in store.

I know right. I'm really confident Mario Golf will be one of Nintendo's E3 reveals. Id like to Mario Strikers there as well. Mario Sports titles are underrated in my opinion. I actually enjoyed Mario Tennis on WiiU it's just a shame it was so bare bones so I have high hopes for Aces this year.
Numbers in brackets are previous positions based on: 24/02/2018 (Unless they haven't moved)
1: Bayonetta (NEW) 2: Rocket League 3: Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition 4: Stardew Valley 5: Bayonetta 2 (NEW) 6:Arcade Archives: VS. Super Mario Bros. (Up from 8th) 7: Overcooked: Special Edition (Down from 6th) 8: Celeste (Up from 10th) 9: FIFA 18 (Down from 6th) 10: Human Fall Flat (Up from 11th) 11: Golf Story (Down from 9th) 12: Worms W.M.D (Up from 13th) 13: Enter The Gungeon (Down from 12th) 14: Owlboy (NEW)(Up from 15th) 15: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Up from off the charts)
So FIFA 18 continues it's fall, unsurprisingly. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe replaced DQ Builders which has finally fallen off. Bayonetta hasn't moved today, surprisingly, Enter The Gungeon is still strong, fluctuating a lot though.
Owlboy is climbing, not sure how high it can go...top of the charts remains unchanged.
Celeste is still hanging in the middle but the real story here isow Arcade Archives: VS. Super Mario Bros has shot up AGAIN!
@bluemage1989 Considering Camelot will probably be the ones to make Mario Golf, I'd wager we won't hear word of it until next year at the earliest. I'd rather have a nice, fully developed sports title than them rushing it to try and do it in a year. That said, if they're developing them in tandem (which might be possible), then I suppose it could happen.
EDIT: Considering Camelot's typical release schedule, and the fact that they only make Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, and Golden Sun, anyone think there's a chance we could see a new Golden Sun / RPG, or them getting handed the Strikers or Sluggers IPs? I doubt they'll only release two games this generation after all, and we won't get another duplicate. I'd much rather see one or the other than another Sports Superstars.
@bluemage1989 It's unlikely that we'll hear about a Mario Golf anytime soon. Nintendo has Camelot work on Mario Golf and Mario Tennis, and they're working on Mario Tennis Aces right now. A Mario Golf is likely to come afterward, but we are not likely to hear about it until a little while after Aces comes out.
I think Mario & Sonic 2020 Olympics is going to be Switch's "Mario Golf" game. The 3DS Mario Golf and Mario Tennis games were 2 years part, 2 years from Mario Tennis Aces' release is very close to Olympics season.

I'm afraid that the Golden Sun franchise is dead for real now. We've been waiting years, but every time it comes out that Camelot is just working on another Mario sports title.
@Harmonie There were 8 years between the Lost Age and Dark Dawn, and it hasn't even been a full 8 years since Dark Dawn released. I wouldn't call it completely out of the question, especially since Camelot isn't supporting two platforms anymore.
If I managed to get my Punch Out sequel after 15 years and my Kid Icarus sequel after 20 years, nothing is out of the question. I'm still holding out for a StarTropics sequel too. I'm still wagering we might see Mike as the bizarre retro choice for the next Smash, but we'll see.
I think the gap between The Lost Age and Dark Dawn is more important than the gap between Golden Sun and The Lost Age, as the 2 GBA games are separate because of technology limitations at the time (Golden Sun and The Lost Age wouldn't fit on 1 GBA cart).
Anyway on another note, the Pokemon twitter countdown is interesting. The end of the countdown is February 28th, not Pokemon Day so maybe Pokemon Day has an announcement of an announcement. Would be cool if February 28th had a Nintendo Direct, while Bayonetta is a fun game I'm ready to know when Hyrule Warriors will take over my free time for a 3rd time.
@YummyHappyPills Well the times the tweets have been posted so far in UK time are:
23rd (6) - 2:38am
24th (5) - 1:41am
24th (4) - 3:59pm
25th (3) - 3:59pm
For the US (east coast is -5 hours, west coast is -8 hours), this would be:
22nd (6)
23rd (5)
24th (4)
25th (3)
@Grumblevolcano, at most M&S 2020 would rule out a 2020 release for MG, but not the absense of MG entirely.
Despite the existence of M&S 2012 & M&S 2016 on 3DS, it got both Mario Golf: World Tour & Mario Sports Superstars (which had a golf mode).
Mario Golf will either appear next year, or after M&S 2020. Camelot has to do something after Aces releases afterall, and it would probably be quicker for them to turn out a Mario Golf than a Golden Sun (to keep the release schedule momentum), as I imagine they'd be able to reuse some assets from Mario Tennis Aces (like maybe the character models). Furthermore, if Aces is indeed just built "on top" of Ultra Smash, it may have not taken long to develop.

@RR529 Depends on the lifespan of the Switch and how much effort is put into Mario & Sonic 2020. Also Mario & Sonic 2012 didn't have golf so World Tour was the debut of Mario Golf type experiences on 3DS.
@link3710 It's true that there was an eight year gap between Golden Sun TLA and Dark Dawn. The problem is that the original two Golden Sun games were very well received and sold well, whereas Dark Dawn didn't do as well on either count.
I personally saw nothing wrong with Dark Dawn, but apparently everyone else did. And when Super Smash Bros 4 came out and not only did Golden Sun not get more representation but it actually decreased in representation down from having an AT to not, I really began to lose hope.
I know that's Super Smash Bros, and all. Probably not the best gauge, but it's not that alone.
@Grumblevolcano, it depends on if Mario & Sonic even "counts" for Nintendo, being that it's an externally developed series.
There's really no evidence one way or the other as to whether Nintendo decides what sports games to release themselves based on what SEGA chooses to put in it's Olympic games.

Yeah, I agree that Nintendo's sports games are underrated - I'd genuinely rate Mario Strikers Charged Football as one of the best football games I've ever played, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort were amazing, Mario Tennis games are usually pretty great...and they even managed to make Golf fun! ()
I'm actually pretty hopeful about Aces - can't wait to see more of it! ..and I'd love to see Nintendo bring a few others to Switch too - Strikers, Golf, Sports...bring 'em all I say!
I'm not sure we'll see any others this year, but I'd love to be proved wrong!
