I own a Nintendo switch oled and I want to charge with solar panels I just want to know everything like if I actually can without damaging my switch what kind of solar panels I need the power it needs ect and the brand of solar panels and price hopefully under 200$ I just can't find any information about this subject anywhere
I just want to know because I charged my Nintendo switch OLED with a regular charger and that kind of damaged it, but fixed it and gotten switch accessories like cords and stuff So that won't happen again. That's why I'm asking about solar panels to charge Nintendo switch OLED because I like to go camping
@WoomyNNYes Switch (and most other electronics) use DC power. The Switch charger converts your mains power (AC) to DC. Solar chargers are DC, so would need an inverter to convert back to AC...for the Switch charger to then convert back to DC. Better off just using a solar power bank which can charge the Switch directly like a regular power bank. The portable 'Power Stations' that have outlets on them are pretty bulky and not something I'd like to carry around while camping - depends how light you travel though I guess.
As far as I'm aware, the issues with 3rd party chargers bricking the Switch were mostly back in the early days and isn't really an issue anymore although I'd still avoid cheap no-name Chinese tat just to be sure. As long as you go with a reputable brand you should be good. My daughter mostly charges her Switch with her phone charger or just a USB plugged into an extension lead when it's not in the dock and it works fine. Regular power bank works too.
