Hello, I have tried contacting the customer support line twice, but had no joy and just went around in circles. In a nutshell we have 2 switch consoles in the house (the main family one /mine) and a new one for the kids. I want to be able for us all to able play the games I own and DLC on both consoles. After I purchased the second console for their xmas pressie I splashed out for the family Nintendo Online package. I set the children up with their own child accounts attached to mine and off we went.

However now, if the children try to play a digitally downloaded game I had bought prior to the new console / family online, they can’t as they “don’t own” the software. The same is true for the Zelda DLC.

It was my understanding that you could play the games on either console as long as connected to the internet on the 2nd console and not being played on the primary. I am worried now that if I make any changes to rectify, the kids will lose all their cloud saves……. HEEEEEEELP!!!!?????

eShop purchase are valid only for the eShop account it was purchased on. They aren't transferable to another user. Each will have to buy their own DLC for each game for it to work.

Hmm , what is the best way to do this ? What would be the implications of taking them of their own account and just having them as child profiles on my account can they still play online ? Splatoon battles etc ? ? ie what benefits do they get from their own personal account ?

You can't move account to different account. For such account issue your going to have to call or email or chat with Nintendo Support on this issue.
