@Santa You should really invite your dad over when playing it, he'll probably not let you play at all!

Man if either of us ever got a day off I would, I'm lucky if I even talk to him once a month, and he only lives 15 minutes away haha. Dude runs a construction company, and I work overnights at a hotel- we're never on each-others schedule.

I would love to show him the game sometime, I got him Roller-coaster Tycoon last year for his Phone and he plays it all the time.

Well still better than my situation - haven't seen him in 12 years. Long, unpleasant story. Worst of all, he doesn't even know the games we discussed!

@aresius Just report the posts, looks like the user is spamming their youtube channel all over the website.

Also, back on topic, I thought this game was out March 25th, needless to say just finding out it's out in three days (thanks to the review posted to this site) makes me very excited, and will hopefully make the wait for animal crossing much easier.

It also means that i'll be skipping Mystery Dungeon for now, oh well.

@Santa
ah ok
the game has a score of 89 (8 review) on metacritics all review prize the port as a full success on switch

most of the small lag happens when the autosave kicks on

loading time are a bit more longer than pc but nothing to worry about : 10-15 second to reach the main menu + 5 second to load the campaign menu and than another 10-15 second to load a map or to change to another one, but in game there will be no more loading you can play for hours without see one .

So I got my copy early and what aresius says about loadingtimes is right. They are a bit longer than on PC but it's something you get used to within minutes and they are really not very intrusive. All good!

As for the rest of the game... I checked yesterday, I got 230 hours on the PC version played, running on highest settings in 1440p - so how does it compare?

IF you know the PC version and what's possible, you will notice the difference in graphical fidelity - for the first 15 minutes or so. But as soon as your hospital get's busy everything is A-OK. Also, this is a game where your enjoyment really is NOT dependent on graphics. It's as cute, funny and entertaining as it is on the PC. If you don't know this game, you'll have ONE BIG GRIN and plenty of chuckles while playing. It's just great, soothing, calming and pure fun.

So.. what about the controls. I have to say, they really did a great job with the controls and that extra development time seems to be well spent. You get the hang of it really quickly and managing even the submenues is almost as fast as on pc with keyboard and mouse. Again, if you don't have the PC version to compare, there's really nothing you would notice negatively. After 1 hours of gameplay I've become one with the controls and was picking up separate patients and positioning furniture like a pro.

As rumors say I'd love to have a TWIN POINT PARK game in the future. This game is a testament to the great games of yore. If you've played this for a few hours you'll probably wonder what all the other devs have been doing all those years...

Personally 10/10 as I don't care for the slight graphical downgrade and see me playing this another 230 hours easily.

@aresius awesome! Seems like the legit way to release a great port of a great pc game on a great console! Good times (for a change).

Actually I was just thinking that if Twin Point Hospital didn't exist it would have been a GREAT idea for a new DOCTOR MARIO game. Just like TPH, but with Nintendo's characters... would have flown off the shelves for sure.

SUPER MARIO PARK next?

@aresius I just came on here to see if this was something anyone had pointed out. Glad I’m not alone in seeing it’s not available yet, despite so close to midnight as I write this. Hope it’s not some annoying time that it goes live.

@aresius Thanks! I’ll get right on it. It’ll give me something to play tomorrow at work during lunchtime. Loved the game on PC and I loved Theme Hospital back in the day.

Is there any hiccups / bugs from Switch version compared with PS4 version ?

FragRed

@Scollurio Do t know if you’re playing it docked or not, but I’m playing in handheld mode and I’ll say it takes a good getting used to the controls, obviously never going to match mouse and keyboard but it doesn’t take too long to get used to it. But it’s an awesome game for portable gaming.

@FragRed Sure, in management games nothing beats mouse and keyboard, but after a while you will muscle-memory it all and not think twice about it. The only fiddly thing is micromanaging your employees. I'm really happy with how this turned out.
