Oh for sure. I’d definitely prefer analog triggers as well. I’m just glad the analog stick is an option though, because it does work reasonably well, and works in any situation no matter what controller you’re using. It’s just kind of an inconvenience to bust out a Gamecube adapter and wired GC Controller whenever you want to play, certainly on the go anyways. At least the option is there for when you’re playing in portable mode.

I can confirm that the analog triggers work with the Nyko adapter! The Smash Bros test is a good one, thank you for the tip. Also tested on the Trials Open Beta and it works as expected 😊. Definitely important to be able to have the extra control for Trials.

I totally agree, I'm so excited to have a portable Trials game, definitely worth getting used to the analog stick to have the portability 😊. It is a little bit funny to break out the adapter and wired controller haha. I'm guessing that I'll probably spend most of my time playing portably, and when I get stuck on some of the extreme tracks I'll pull out the full setup.

Happy gaming 😀.

I first played Trials when Fusion released on the X1. I couldn’t believe how fun the game was, and nobody was talking about it (kinda like now).

This is by far my favorite Ubisoft franchise. They broke Xbox exclusivity and ported across platforms, though it seems nobody else really cares. The Xbox version is actually out selling all the other versions according to Amazon, but that’s not saying much because it’s not doing that well either.

It kills me to see people ignore such an amazing masterpiece of a game. Especially when there’s an open beta for anyone to try it

I totally agree - I've been a fan for quite a while (I started with Trials HD back on the Xbox 360), and I've enjoyed every game since. I really hope the game gets the recognition it deserves, it really is spectacular.

I'm very tempted to pick this up tomorrow... The beta is fun. But my backlog is killing me!

I love MotoHeroz (one of my five 10/10 WiiWare games).

It is a similar, cartoony, multiplayer-focused WiiWare racer with a huge singleplayer campaign (also created by RedLynx). It runs on the same (earlier) Trials physics engine. I hope they put out a MotoHeroz sequel on Switch one day, or a remake, now that WiiWare and MotoHeroz are gone.

Should’ve pounced on this soon as it went live! This game is an absolute must have for any Switch fan. I couldn’t imagine not having this game digitally on my switch to play anytime I want. It’s just so gosh dang good. And the perfect type of game to play in short bursts or long binge sessions. It’s like it was created specifically for Switch.

“Just one more time” - a Trials player at 2am flashes on the screen during loading. They speak truth though. This game is crack on a cartridge.

Maybe there will be a demo sometime then.

Got the full game today! It's a fun title, no doubt! I'm not a big fan of sports games, unless they are exaggerated, which this no doubt is. It's not taking itself to seriously and that's what I like about it. The controls will take some time getting used to though. But overall an entertaining game!

Like an extreme version of Excitebike or the sadly forgotten Motocross Maniacs on Game Boy.

@JaxonH Yeah! It is really difficult, but great fun!

Sadly, it seems like this game has become a victim of the nitpicking crew (with some people even judging it based on some crappy screenshots) and of course NL have jumped onboard the train (despite their reviewer giving it a recommendation), just to get some easy clicks by helping create a controversy out of nothing. If one think rationally about it, of course the Switch version can't be at the same graphical level as on the other systems. But it plays good and is fun! Can't that be enough?

Ya, it’s a tragedy how people have picked this game apart.

Some of these challenges are insane. The trials university one with sloped boards. Oh my gosh. I played out for like four hours straight and could not beat that stage. I got to the really steep ones that have three in a row and I just couldn’t get past them. I did actually make it past them and then the next set I made it past and I got to the final set and got up the first two and almost all the way up the third- I could see the finish- and then lost my balance and fell off. And the time ran out so I wasn’t able to end my run and get an A. So angry.

Then the one where you have to do 12 backflips and 6 front flips with 0 faults... oh my gosh. I could just sit here and try over and over and over and over and over again all day long in a zombie like state

@JaxonH LOL, you seem very skilled compared to me. I even suck at the first stage of the trials university. 😝

Ouch...

You’ll improve. Admittedly, it’s a bit harder to play with the right analog stick than an analog shoulder button, but it’s good enough for the most part. Speaking of which, you definitely want to use the right analog stick. And lean with the left analog stick. It’s not about going as fast as you can. I mean a lot of the time it is. But there are certain obstacles where it’s advantageous to slow down or apply the brakes. A good flow will get you a faster time than simply holding the go button from start to finish.

Practice makes perfect. There were some stages in the beta that I thought were downright impossible until I tried them over and over and over and learned how to do them.
