Topic: Transferring user data to new console

Hi everyone!
I moved to another country and left my old Switch with all the saving data to my sister. Today I just got a new one, and I have to setup my old account. I have a few questions regarding this, and would be super grateful for your help!
1. I would like to transfer all the save data. I know I can do that via settings, by connecting two consoles to the same local network, but as soon as we are in different countries this is impossible (at least for the next month). Thus I was wondering if there is any other options (like Nintendo Online subscription) to do that distantly?
2. I also need to pass the priority to the new console (at the moment I can only play digital games with the internet connection, which sucks as I fly a lot), but I’m not sure if after doing that I will be able to successfully transfer save data.
3. If i will transfer data, and it will be delated on the original console, will my savings from Animal Crossing will transfer as well ? (my sis acc is a primary one on the island)
4. I also have some new cartridges on me here, if I will make some progress, will these new save data will be fine after I will do transferring?

@wwvladek To my knowledge you can only transfer both consoles local only.

To get your data from your first Switch both must be present to do data transfer and then you have to change the new one to primary and second one to secondary. And remember any Digital bought on your account isn't available to the second Switch once data transferred happens. Country of Origin shouldn't matter it is Region games restriction download so unless you have a secondary account to download games or DLC from other Regions the Main can't do that. But you want to contact Nintendo Support for this issue as they are the ones that better assist you for system transfer or migration as they have a FAQ on their site to help with this.

@wwvladek Regarding passing priority to the new Switch, Nintendo calls it the "primary console". I think these pages may be what you want.

Animal Crossing New Horizons requires an app download tool to transfer game save data to a new console. This is somewhat unique to ACNH.

I think Snatcher above is right; I think you can only transfer game save data when both consoles are present via Switch's local wifi.

edit: Game save data is not stored on Switch game cards/cartridges. Game save data is stored on the Switch's internal memory. (microSD cards only store games, dlc, screenshots & video clips).
