I'm stuck in Toki Tori 2+. Is there any way to see how far in the game I am so that I can search for help a bit more specifically?

So far I really don't like this game. I don't mind that it's hard, but I don't like that you have to guess half the time whether you're doing it right. The game hardly provides feedback and the goal is unclear most of the time.

Hmm... in the Wii U version you could always add a screenshot and use Miiverse to get quick help.

There are hints though that lead you the way, like glowing marks on the map and feathers that show where you've been and where you haven't been.

Check the map thouroughly, and if one path seems like a dead end, there's usually another way around.

Exactly this... How can I check the map? I remember when I started the game a few months ago that I saw the map a few times, but now I can't seem to find a way to bring out this map screen.

Thx for the help!

You can learn melodies by observing the surroundings (like suspicious singing birds).
All the melodies you've learnt (and other stats) are viewable in the pause menu.

The melody to fast-travel on the map is short-short-long-short-short-long.

I loved Toki Tori 2+! The complete lack of hand-holding takes me back to 1980s game design, but the game is still scrupulously fair, and every puzzle can be solved right from the start. If you're really stuck, there are probably some videos somewhere, but really this game requires nothing more than perseverance and a little lateral thinking. Trial and error will get you to the end eventually; it got me there.

That said, I felt no desire to go after every golden feather and get 100% completion. The main campaign was enough for me.

Thanks, that worked. I really thought I'd already tried that, but it didn't work because I hadn't discovered the tune in-game. Turns out I probably had the tune wrong.

I'll probably give the game another shot then somewhere this weekend.
