Hey everyone. This is my first post on the forum, so feel free to call me out if I am missing some rule.
But my point is simple. I have had the Switch since launch. I love it immensely. But it worries me sometimes. Like others have reported, mine is, very slightly, warped, and when playing for a while, especially while docked, it gets pretty warm. Not enough to make it uncomfortable to hold or touch, but certainly enough to be very noticeable.
Does this happen for anyone else, or should I be worried about it?

It will get warm as its a thin device. There is a youtube video I cant remember where, where the guy tests it even by covering it with blankets and it took him literally suffocating it with fast RMX (Intense on the GPU measured by temp) running for it to finally shut down. The switch has a safety net that will shut it down before damage is done to the Nvidia GPU chipset so you have nothing to worry about. Its perfectly normal and just the heat dissipating. Keep gaming on without worry.
https://youtu.be/RHy_TOdVHqQ - he even disconnects the fan to get it to overheat. So like I said lol... Dont sweat it as itll just eat into your fun time with worries that arent necessary...
In portable mode it becomes barely warm, you don't even notice it if you don't put your palm over it to control, but in docked mode it becomes very hot rather fast with some games.
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
I play mine in my mancave, aka garage, when docked. During summer time my garage is like an oven (and I usually undock it and play inside). When I fight the heat and play it docked in the summertime, I'd be willing to bet mine gets a lot hotter than most peoples. So far so good, although I know when it's time to quit because it'll start to flicker now and then on the screen. That's when I know I'm getting too hot and I'll stop.
As far as comparing it to PS4, and PS4 is far superior, yada yada BS, yeah, no. I mean, as far as processing power and graphics, yes, superior. Superior cooling? Nope, not even remotely. My Switch holds up much better in the heat than the PS4, even my XBox One holds up better. PS4 cooling system is garbage. My PS4 is useless to me during the summer. Overheats very quickly compared my Switch, and XBox One. Out of my gaming consoles, my PS4 is the absolute worst in the heat.

@Old_Goat_Ninja maybe if youd clean your PS4 and not play it in a garage like some homeless person would. I bet your PS4 is filthy and dusty nasty.
...
Nintendo SuperFans love to talk smack on the industry leading Sony Playstation on the internet and make ridiculous comparisons out of Sony hate and Sony Jealousy.
@Samus7Killer lol, I don't what your deal is and why you're on this forum. Every one of your posts or comments are rude and sh-tty in way or another. Eh, oh well, to each their own I suppose.
As fas as assuming my PS4 is filthy and nasty, I could care less what you think or your opinion is. If hanging out in my garage makes me "like a homeless person", then so be it. One of the reasons I bought my house is for the garage. I have my car, my wife's car, and 2 motorcycles parked on one side, and on the other side I have a big screen TV, 2 recliners, 7.1 surround sound, 3 gaming consoles, a full size refrigerator, a weight bench, and a cable home gym system. My garage is HUGE. Oh, and it's carpeted on that side. But yup, my garage is just like a homeless persons house.
@Samus7Killer It's not a secret the PS4 has overheating problems. And I own one.
But we'll never see this kind of video trending like this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cb-srOfRqNc) because we all know who control the industry, and have the most blind and hateful fanbase for smear campaigns. But keep going with this behavior. It's very effective and can only lead us too great things:
@aesc I live in a tiny 2 room apartment in midtown Manhattan. Not all Americans have or want big houses. Though I did grow up in one. The Switch is a perfect fit for urban living with not a lot of space.
@aesc Hahaha, that's funny because there's probably some truth to your comment. My house itself isn't that big really, but the garage is fantastic. You are absolutely correct though, we do have some really big houses around here. When I bought my house, I had one condition, either buy a house with an extra bedroom (for my toys) or a large garage. We found our dream house with the extra large garage instead of the extra room. 9 months out of the year I'm happy with the choice. The 3 months of summer my garage is too hot to fully enjoy. Getting the Switch helps a lot though, I just take it out of the dock and play inside most of the time. One of the many nice things about the Switch.

@Old_Goat_Ninja Oh you Americans make me so jealous with your massive houses. My gaming room is also the kitchen, and the living room and the dining room, and the laundry room (And my music studio). And it's probably smaller than one of your motorcycles.
yep and i meant it. No worries.
Maybe a fan is needed like when i used to use on my fatty Full BC PS3...
