This game really has potential! It is celshaded, like I expected. But it seems to be different from Skyward sword! Also the promise of a big open world where you can go anywhere and do the puzzles in your own order sounds really good!

And now the speculation: The guy from youtube that said it would be about the sun crashing may be right. After all, this game looks extremely light (the graphics, not the gameplay). But if its true, then there is also a dark world like that guy claimed!

The old-fashioned piano-music, big robotic squid and Links sci-fi bow make me think that this game is steampunk! Or at least it has scifi elements. This all sounds very promising. Further, Epona is back and Link looks more like a savage. Or at least that's how it feels to me. No evil Wildling from Game of thrones, mind you. But I think he is not a regular villager. And it looks like he has some sort of ponytail.

Oh, I would have loved to see more. I guess its not on the showfloor. That graphical style...I have seen it before somewhere. Either way, looks promising!

Maybe it reminded you of the Rime demo from last year's E3? That's immediately what I thought of when I saw it. I'm delighted with the art style and the design of Link. It's definitely right at the top of the list of games I'm excited about. I'm so happy it's still a big single player adventure too, as I'd been worried after the success of 3D World they'd want to make sure this was 4 player too, easy to pick up for short sessions and all that.

It wouldn't surprise me either. If so, it even could turn out to be the Wii u succesor launch title.

As for timeline: What if this plays in a dried-up Hyrule (the Hyrule from Windwaker). Link has left the land, so there may be room for another Link. This Link wears blue, and Windwaker Link also started out in blue. May be a coincidence, but you never know!

"Maybe it reminded you of the Rime demo"

I had not seen that demo before, but you are right. There are similarities, but both look great in their own right (judged from the trailer).

As for multiplayer: That's still possible. But I get what you mean. You feared it would be a "playing in short bursts affair". But now it seems it will be a full-scale free-roaming 3D Zelda, with much more freedom then before. Sounds great!

I'm very happy with the artstyle they've chosen for the game. The world looks absolutely beautiful, and the characters remind me a lot of Skyward Sword. I have a very strong suspicion that this new Link might just be a girl though.

Umm no! No successor please. Lets not even talk about that as they DONT need one for another 5 years!

Anouma wants to avoid a dev cycle longer than three years (Skyward Sword took five years to make) and Nintendo probably wants this as their heavy-hitter next Christmas so I doubt it gets pushed to 2016.

I loved that tech demo when it was shown and wanted that to be the graphics style till today that is! The graphics I seen today look better and just jump off the screen. Way more vibrant and colorful and that animation!! O.O

Same here, Tech. It's like they took the graphical style from Skyward Sword and refined it tenfold until it actually looked beautiful, instead of a mess.

I've said before that I think Skyward Sword's visuals could have been more fully realized with better hardware.

Even if Zelda U seems to have a slightly different art style it comes very close to what I had in mind.

@Spoony_Tech,

I also hope the Wii u fulfills the 5 year cycle, but lets face it: The Wii u is NOT succesfull! And while the new Mariokart seems to sell pretty good, the Wii u is not out of the dangerzone yet. And Iwata himself said the succesor may be around 2 years off. But we'll see.

Here is another crazy theory: What if this is actually Ganondorf?! His hair looks a bit ginger. His robe looks a bit Ganondorf-like. But now Macintyre also mentioned in his video that the guy is wearing Gerudo-like gloves. All coincidence?

I'm digging the art direction. It has this sort of Pixar meets anime look to it. It's nice.
To be honest, a more realistic look won't age as well anyway. Wind Waker visually aged far better than Twilight Princess. There's your proof.

As for where I think this is in the timeline, I have no idea. I'd have to see more.

I really hope it's post-Zelda 2.

Either way, if they follow up on the non-linear approach to ALBW this should be great.

@Swiket,

Read my last post! There I speculated that this new hero...is Ganondorf! Or maybe you are right, and he is Links son. Remember one of the rumored names "The unbound king"? Maybe Link is that king, and this is his son. It ties in with one of my fantasies: Playing as a older, king Link!

Also, we can assume there is a lot of focus on bow and arrow play in this title.

I'm betting "Link" is dressed like that because there is going to be an array of equipment in this game. You're appearance will change throughout the game as you get different gear, like other Open-World RPG's.. I think they are really going to change things up with this game. They might not even call him Link, for all we know we just pick a name and possibly even a gender and go from there. They'd just call you the hero. It's not like we haven't picked our names in Zelda games before and been "so-and-so" instead of Link.. but yeah, I digress.

My guess is that it takes place inbetween Phantom Hourglass (which is a direct sequel to WW) and Spirit Tracks (which takes place 100 years after WW & PH).

We already know that Spirit Tracks takes place in New Hyrule (a new continent that was discovered at some point after the events of WW & PH), so what if this game takes place shortly after New Hyrule is settled, and the abundance of sci-fi elements hints as to why they had the technology for trains in ST.
