Today I got a Vizio 5.1 Surround Sound system (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-smartcast-36-5-1-channel-soundbar-system-with-5-wireless-subwoofer-and-digital-amplifier-black/5768100.p?skuId=5768100) with a 3.0 soundbar with a wireless subwoofer and 2 sattellite speakers. I've had nothing but problems. Since the Switch won't do passthrough with HDMI, it has to be attached directly to the soundbar to do surround sound because it only supports LPCM. The problem is that some sounds are super quiet, such as scrolling through stages in SSBU, and scrolling on the system menu makes no noise (It may just be extremely quiet, but it still shouldn't be). Then it sounds...odd when you click on a game icon, and in game some sounds are weird, especially high pitch ones (This was while it was plugged into the tv). Even using my Xbox One (Which is plugged into the tv and goes through HDMI ARC to the soundbar), when I was running and jumping on a game you can barely hear your footsteps. What could be causing it? I regularly use the Switch on another 5.1 Samsung sound system (It's plugged directly into the receiver/dvd player, and it's not a sound bar) and the only thing is the bass makes a popping noise while in the system menu. Is this a problem with the soundbar or the Switch? I was also considering an Onkyo:
Maybe it has to do with the fact that it has a digital amplifier. The others have an analog amplifier. If I have to I'll just return it. And buy another one.
TLDR; There are sound problems with the Switch on a Vizio soundbar, not sure what to do.
It's not how fast you can do something, it's how well you can do something fast
I think the clicks you normally hear not being heard anymore is normal, it's like that with the Elgato HD60 as well. Aside from that everything sounds perfectly fine for me. I have a Vizio 5.1 sound bar as well.

The Switch was on the correct settings and had surround sound, but terrible audio quality. I tried several different cables and settings, but there were still sound problems. My dad's old Samsung system worked perfectly fine with the same settings, so I'm going to return the Vizio. Would the Onkyo or the Samsung system be better to replace it?
The other issues are weird, we may have different versions since mine was only $200. (main reason why I went for it) And it's pretty much awesome, especially with Monster Hunter GU, I think it's the only game I have that supports surround sound.

I think alot has to do with the Audio hardware software and how it recognizes a speak you plug into the HeadPhone plug. So if the chipsets don't match or recognize the soundbar that can also have issues.

@Jordino I forgot to bring this up, this could be what you're talking about, as this was causing my Switch to sound weird/low quality at first too. Make sure you turn off TruVolume and stuff like Night Mode, TruVolume automatically messes with the volume depending on how loud the game or whatever it is you're watching. I also have the Equalizer set to Direct.
