Topic: Switch Stuck Pixels - Fixed

Okay so what happened was this. I was playing Stardew Valley and needed to buy a tremendous amount of stone. This meant I sat on the buy screen for about 30 straight minutes (because you have to hold the button down) this resulted in the number for my money flickering and going down in that one spot super fast the whole time.

This actually messed up the pixels on my screen in that spot! I thought I had ruined my Switch screen!

But I found some info online and learned the difference between a stuck pixel and a dead pixel. The former is fixable, the latter is not.

There are YouTube videos that are basically epilepsy bait - but playing them for about 10 minutes fixed the pixels!

I also tried another method I found online - applying modest pressure with a warm, slightly damp, cloth. If this helped, I can't say for sure, it seemed to do a little. But the video absolutely seems to have worked!

Glad I didn't lose my wits and just impulse buy a new system. Lol.

Wild. That's awesome that it was fixable. Nice work, @Heavyarms55

@WoomyNNYes I was panicking at first. It's actually a good thing Amazon was out of stock of Switches for once. Cause I almost panic bought a replacement. When they didn't have one, I actually decided to research and it did turn out fixable.

@Heavyarms55 What, so you play a fast blinking youtube video that alternates between black and white like a strobe, and that gets the pixel unstuck?

@WoomyNNYes So the ones I used used RGB. Red, green and blue changing rapidly. Which is why I called it epilepsy bait. I assume the colors are important since most of the videos for this purpose that I saw, used them.
