@Magician
Thank you for the notice - those were some worthy deals! I already had most of that Amazon list, but ordered Stanley Parable as I’ve been curious about that game.

And I didn’t need much convincing to check out VGP’s sale, too - it’s always a treat to shop with them. They had deals on LRG’s Raiden 30th Anniversary Collection (collects Raiden IV Remix and Raiden 5) and World of Horror, so I shopped there also.

I think I’m good for the year now, unless there’s some massive black Friday deal I can’t refuse.

I see that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trilogy and Soul Reaver 1 & 2 are getting physical releases in Japan.

Future LRG releases...probably?

Paraka

@Magician - Definitely Souls Reaver will, there was already responses since it's con leak months ago about it.

STALKER is one I would hope for a full cart release, but I am too cautious of it being one.

In other news; Good Boy Galaxy developer has cut a contract with First Press and made a huge announcement about it and that people are being offered refunds.

Mildly annoyed that the Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary physical edition ceaselessly asks for you to log into an Ubisoft account if you play in docked mode. You have to play in handheld mode with airplane mode on to avoid it.

@Magician
That should never fly, and it was enough of an issue for the Doom 1+2 release that they offered reprints.
You could maybe use a wired controller for docked mode with airplane mode on, if you don't want to play handheld, but that's still absurd.

@Magician
Oh that rots - I was irritated by that endless Ubisoft login request when I played Immortals Fenyx Rising, too. They should make any log-in like that entirely optional and skippable.
With Fenyx, I absolutely refused to log in. I managed to get around it by yamming on the Y, X, and A buttons all at once - somehow that messed with the screens and allowed me to bypass the login. I hope I don't have to resort to airplane mode with Beyond G&E...

@Teksette
Huh, that makes me wonder if you stumbled upon a developer backdoor to bypass login checks.

@Magician I'm annoyed that I forgot to order that game.
But kind of happy that I didn't get it in the end if that's the case.

I haven't checked in with gamefairy.io in a while. They went dark for the longest time, I think their previous preorder was pre-pandemic? The other day I noticed they're doing a western release of Coma 1 + 2. Which is cool, but I already have a Japanese copy. Of all the games published by Headup Games it's kind of a shame they chose those.

Would've much rather preferred The Inner World double pack or something.

It's been close to a year since I've contended with that Fenyx login screen, and memory is hazy, but I think those were the 3 buttons I mashed on. IIRC correctly, upon bootup the game confronts you with the Ubisoft login screen, then cancelling that brings you, just for the briefest instant, to the title screen with the start/load menu, before it shifts you BACK to the Ubisoft login screen right away to insist you log in.
I think just because they tease the title screen like that, I yammed on buttons and lo and behold, it actually worked.

But the whole concept is asinine - Fenyx is not FTP and logging into a player-tracking portal should be entirely optional for us paying customers. Make it mandatory and that's just another way to annoy and lose your customers. I wonder if login was mandatory with their Prince of Persia game from early this year? I bought it but never got around to trying it.

Despite the utter debacle that First Press Games have been, the developer for Chained Echoes has tweeted that Switch physical copies are finally being pressed.

That's only the actual game cards, though. Who knows how many more printing issues FPG will claim to have that holds back shipping the games.

1Print Games, which had been inactive for some six months, also just announced today that they'll be doing a Black Friday "Lucky Box" sale, and more importantly that news for their overdue Slap City release will be coming next month.

Black Friday deals are in full swing on Amazon UK.
Whilst browsing Switch physicals, I spotted Monster Crown, a PEGI release that for the longest time I couldn't find anywhere outside of Play-Asia.
It's currently going for just £18 as a Black Friday deal, limited availability though.

I already have my own copy anyhow, but I just remembered this one being elusive.

Best Buy deals, some hot stuff.

Gundam Breaker 4 $30, Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection $55, and Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed $40 might be the best of the newer stuff.

Despite Zenith being a miss, this Black Friday might be the best I've experienced throughout collecting for the Switch? Just the fact that I haven't been buying as many new releases as I had in years passed. Thirteen retail games, never mind the usual deliveries from boutique companies.

Exercising purchase-patience hasn't felt this well rewarded in a while.

@Magician
I’ve got to agree - the low-print publishers and usual retailers have all been peppering me with Black Friday offerings. Sadly, I haven’t been as disciplined in my purchases as you this year, so most of the games I wanted, I’d already bought!

Still, VGP tempted me into buying the Trine bundle and a couple other games, and I even gambled on getting Taito Milestones 1&2 and Tiny Thor from SLG during a sale last week. Meanwhile, importing games from Japan has never been better, with the weak yen.

Getting more for our game-buying dollars is always a great feeling!

I bought the new Prince of persia game for switch exactly because it doesn't do the login screen BS. I haven't tested it personally, but apparently switch was the only console where you could actually turn it off.

Did my usual target-search for physical releases today. Ran into Phantasy Star V. But it's just fan art. At first glance I thought the SEGA Ages Switch ports were getting a physical release or something.

I am disappointed.

Super Rare Games tease some of their 2025 releases.

Nuclear Throne?

Cyber Shadow?

@Magician I haven't a clue, but Cyber Shadow would be able damn time.

I'd love another crab's treasure, Minishoot Adventures, Turnip Boy Robs A Bank, and Wall World. Really hope Wizard with a gun finds a way to get a switch release, but I'm not hopeful.
