@NeonPizza
I feel much the same! I may not go so far as to call all the boutique physical titles “shovel ware” per se, as LRG and co. bring us some quality indie gems that otherwise might never get a physical release. But for sure, I hate to see games like G&G Resurrection and Actraiser Renaissance marooned in the eshop.
I avoid a lot of frustration by just abstaining. I hardly ever buy new titles off the eShop, instead I wishlist and wait 6-12 months in hopes that somebody announces a physical version. Occasionally I double-dip, but most often it’s for a physical game I already owned, then bought later during an eShop sale if I wanted easy digital access.
It’s a pain, though, to keep preferring physical games in this eShop age. 😑

We all feel the burn of neglecting solid physical releases. Sitting here still waiting for Hand of Fate 2, and Monomals, and ANY of the Riot Forge games to get a physical.
Huh, just found this website https://www.physicalreleases.com/
Which has links to where you can buy the physicals from.
Not an ad just me wondering if anyone else has seen it

@ElRoberico I think NeonPizza was speaking more about how boutique publishers opt to release lower quality games physically while there are many 7/10-or-better games that seem to get passed over. That a publisher will push out a physical copy years later as a means to double-dip from fans is kinda gross.
But on the other end, I doubt anyone who posts in this thread understands (I sure don't) the backdoors negotiating for green-lighting a physical release. Years ago in an email to Super Rare I asked if they had considered Hand of Fate 2 (I love the game). They replied with, "we tried, but they said "no"."
I assume revenue split wasn't to DefiantDevelopment's liking. But who knows.
@Magician I totally get that, especially with Limited Run. It feels like they want to get as much as they can. There are just too many random games that most people would be interested in.
Don’t get me wrong. When they have big stuff to put out, it feels like it’s a massive deal. It just makes the rest feel inconsequential.
The only other thing I could see being “artificial” is games that are incomplete on cart.

@ElRoberico Like Deponia 2 which still has the teleport bug (which ruined my game as it's so near the end) and Sally Face which doesnt have the final chapter. Then there was Hell Pie fiasco (they did send out a fixed cartridge for that one), all Super Rare Games, which is sad as they pick some good games to be fair.

@Bunkerneath
The EU physicals being sold on Fangamer EU don't appear to be any different from the retail releases.
It's a shame because I was hoping this would mean expanding the EU range with the many US exclusive Fangamer releases like Baba Is You, Hypnospace Outlaw, Later Alligator, Bugsnax, and more.
@RainbowGazelle
Ah yeah, I think I did see that.
That's the other thing, the Fangamer EU physical selection isn't everything, they don't have Slime Rancher Plortable Edition listed.
@RainbowGazelle
I have a copy but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.
Right now, I'm playing Super Mario Wonder, Super Mario RPG, and Tetris Effect Connected whenever I've time for a game.
