Topic: Switch online can you buy nes games?

does anybody out there know if you will have the option to buy the nes games or you have to rent them through
nintendo's online service only?

Only available through Switch online, you keep them as long as you pay the subscription.

I hope they have an option to buy them I don't like the idea of just renting them
althought its super cheap I just want to own

Virtual Console as it was from Wii and Wii U are not coming to the Switch, according to Nintendo. As yet there have been zero plans stated to have NES, SNES, Gameboy, and Gamecube games available for sale on the Switch either. What we do know is that Nintendo has stated Nintendo Online subscriptions will have access to a selection of NES games, for as long as they are a subscriber. This list is 20 games initially, but they have said they will be adding more in the future.

There's speculation that SNES games will also be included, but there is no official word on that. It's just speculation based on controller icons found when data mining and hope with no actual evidence backing it up.
