My Switch has been crashing and showing an orange screen. Has someone else found a good way to fix it without resetting all my Switch's data? This video here might work but it seems to reset your switch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJZok_HHkJw

@ok1 Has Nintendo said the repair will loose all your data?

Nintendo support contact page. Phone & chat messenger.

I totally understand if you don't want to send the console in. I've got pro controllers with drift I could have sent in for free repair, but haven't.

Edit: Nintendo's support page for orange screen:

@WoomyNNYes The thing about the Nintendo Support page is that it's only a short term fix. I've been doing that since it started and it still happens.
Also, do pro controllers have free repairs?

@Northwind I have a good amount of games that don't cloud saves. If cloud saves worked on every single game I'd honestly not have a problem.

Understandable. The lesson I've learned with Nintendo support is, using their troubleshooting is a very good way to figure out if your console needs repair. I won't argue that it's perfect, but is a good resource in that respect.

Otherwise, I'm not familiar with with the orange screen issue to know if it's an easy fix you can do, or not. (If it's a poorly seated screen ribbon plug, I'm fairly certain that's a bit buried. Possibly needs thermal paste for the heat sink when you put it back together.)

Regarding pro controller drift getting free repairs: hmmm, until now, I thought it was fairly certain that procon drift repairs were also covered, regardless of warranty expiration. But now, I'm not sure. So, I'll file that under, "I don't know".
