Topic: Stuck on the Sleep and Power Options Screen!

I pressed the home button and the power options and sleep mode option screen came up but the controller is still moving the character on the screen UNDER the sleep and power options. Now I can't close out the game and return to the home menu page and I can't turn off the console because when I move the joystick it moves the cursor on the game screen not the power screen. I don't know what to do. Is there an manual/emergency shutdown?

I had this problem once, too. I believe holding down the power button until it turns off fixes it.

Had this happen once myself, where it was stuck on sleep and power. I did somehing odd I don't usually do which I think triggered it, like having Joycons removed from Switch when docked then slid into grip before pressing buttons to activate... I can't remember exactly what it was but it was something I don't usually do.

But yeah as Kirby said you can just hold the power button on the system until it turns off

This happened to me as well.

Hold the power button for 15 seconds. It should turn off. This is something in many electronics.
