Wth are Nintendo doing! You actually have to press ZL to roll left and R to roll right. They literally managed to screw controls mapping. It's amazing how they couldn't make it L-R or ZL-ZR.

Am I the only one enraged by such amateurishness?

That's more bizarre than infuriating tbh. Like I got used to a similar thing within the span of a single race of Mario Kart 64, so I think I'll be fine. I'm more concerned about the c buttons tbh.

They want you to buy a N64 Controller for Switch.

What I hate about the N64 Controller (and the Gamecube Controller for that matter) is that they would be almost perfect for all games, if they wouldn't miss a (ZR) button.

If GC and N64 had it you could play almost every Switch game with them. But since they don't, they are limited to just a few games.

I would buy a N64 Controller though, if the games weren't just a service. When the service ends what can I do with the controller? Has anyone tried it with Super Mario 64 on 3D All-Stars?

I mean the Gamecube Controller is useless for stuff like Animal Crossing New Horizons and almost every other Switch game, but at least it's great for Smash Ultimate and Mario Sunshine.

@SKTTR My thoughts also. It feels like they are purposefully messing the controls and preventing us from customizing them in a greedy attempt at making us buy controlers.

No thinking about it, its pretty clear they just made the L button the replacement for the Z button, presumably(?) across the board, with the other L being the actual N64 L button. Because N64 was such a weird controller, yes that is actually what Z did in this game instead of the obvious L.

Which makes sense for some games but for Star Fox its reasonable to assume the L button would be for turning left like R is for Right. And that is how it is on Virtual Console but guess they had to make it...slightly less consistent here!
