Topic: Splatoon 3

@chapu2006 In Splatoon 2, they introduced new content updates about every 3-4 months? I don't remember the exact time intervals. Many, or most, weapons in Splatoon 2 ended up with 4 weapon kit variants. And sometimes, these updates introduce a brand new weapon, sub weapon, or special weapon.

@StarPoint I was rewatching the trailer about an hour ago analysing what was being shown and I just so happened to pause on the exact 2 frames that this scroll was on screen for. Needless to say, I was popping off.

Also, if you look to the left of Wahoo World, you can see lights shining down in the distance. Exactly as is described in 2's Sunken Scroll at that!

@Fizza That remix sounds fantastic! It keeps the weird, distorted nature of w-3 in tact but you can still recognize the song easily. I really hope we get more w-3 remixes, though. If it's just Clickbait playing over and over for the whole Big Run that will get a little stale. I'm sure they'll throw a few more songs at us.

i'm super curious about the new roller, it just looks like a slightly thinner and longer variant
i wonder what the main thing that sets it apart is, along with the new shooter

I think that bigger Splatershot is the Forge Splatershot Pro variant. Just with a new design.

@StarPoint @WoomyNNYes Cheers! Have always loved the splattershot but felt the suction bomb lets it down somewhat, so good to hear.

I wonder what Big Run is gonna be like. I don't have Splatoon 3 yet (I'm hoping to get it on Christmas), so I'm guessing that'll be a variation of Salmon Run? I do like Salmon Run regardless, so that's the feature from the update trailer that I'm most interested in.

Where is the tableturf.

@WaffleBoat if you head towards the lobby area there’s an alley to the right. Once the alley opens up into a courtyard turn right and the table will be at the end. Also if you open up the menu using the X button you can select it and go to it

@MarioLover92 I don't think Big Run will replace, or eliminate, the current Salmon Run in splatoon 3. We still don't know much about Big Run. Maybe it be a part of the regular salmon run shift rotation, or perhaps limited to a weekend like splatfest - just guessing.

Currently, there are three maps for Salmon Run. Two are brand new for Splatoon 3, and one is from Splatoon 2.

@LiNeR This is a very naive question but… how do you select it from the menu that you open with X? I can see a picture of it when I open up the menu (in the top right) but I can’t actually access it. There are options for the lobby, the plaza/square, Alterna, the local multiplayer place, Salmon Run, and al the shops, but… I’ve never worked out how to get to the Tableturf place without actually walking there.

@WaffleBoat ah gotcha. I’m really looking forward to that too. My unrealistic hope is that you can use the tableturf tables above the firing range in the lobby if you’re in a private lobby. It’d be such a fun side feature.

Never mind what I said about that new looking shooter... It is new. 😅
It's called the "Space-Shooter" in Japanese. It's not very accurate (like the Pro) when shooting, but if you keep shooting it won't lose accuracy over time like other shooters. (SplatoonJP Twitter)

@Budda I just Google Translated the tweet myself and I'm still confused. I assume this means it has next to no jump RNG then? That's....alright I guess but it doesn't seem like it's enough to separate it into an entirely new shooter rather than just a buffed Pro. I really just need a gameplay demonstration of it before making any assumptions though.

It has jump RNG I think.
Shooters get a larger RNG over time if you shoot nonstop. To my understanding, the new weapon doesn't have this. Maybe it's a Splatershot with Pro's range, with a little more RNG.

Finally made it to Eggsecutive VP in Salmon Run last night. Mostly thanks to the current rotation of weapons, feels like there isn't a dud in the bunch. Hopefully I'm able to maintain it and keep my status, but those 150-160% hazard level waves got pretty difficult at times.

So the description of the new update on the official Nintendo page says, we are getting Big Run "later this year". Holiday Splatfest in danger? First no Halloween, then this? 🥲
