Hi just downloaded Ocarina of Time to my switch. However I can’t work out how to speak to Navi with my Switch pro controller- can any one please help. Thanks E
You have to press the C-Up button to talk to Navi, right? If so, either push the right stick upwards, or hold ZR and press X. The C buttons are mapped to the right stick or ZR + the ABXY buttons.
Shield is R, I think. Make sure you've equipped it in the menu first.
Also, just to make things easier when you start getting more items, I believe C-Left is mapped to Y and C-Down is X, so you can use those without the right stick or holding ZR. It's a little complicated, but I guess that's what comes with trying to map the N64's weird controls onto something completely different!
Personally, I recommend you hold ZR and use the YXBA buttons as C-buttons. That way you're actually pressing on buttons to use items (rather than moving a D-stick in a certain direction) which is closer to the intended experience. (And, frankly, I think it feels better to shoot and swing stuff with clicky button presses.) It's still not perfect, especially when playing the Ocarina later on, but after about 150 hours across Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on NSO, it's almost second nature to me now.
Eh, the ZR method gets a bit confusing when you need to use the ocarina. I'd say it's better to just use the c-stick method in this game.
Since you'll likely want to have the ocarina set into one of the item slots most of the time, simply leave it on the C button that is not mapped to X or Y and forget about it; then just use X and Y as the two "main" item buttons.
