I have been saving up for the Switch since it was first revealed with this name. I have gotten some walmart gift cards and my mom works at walmart, so she gets a 10% discount. So I will most likely buy from there.
My problem comes here. I want to get it at launch along with BoTW (obviously). So me and my friends wanted to wait outside the store and buy it right when it comes out, like how my parents did with older consoles. But since the newer generation and the fact that walmart is open 24/7 I'm already not too sure how it'll work.
But I have another concern. What if they're sold out? So I came here to ask if I should pre order the console and game to be safe, or should I wait it out and chance it on the day of. Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you should preorder. But at this point, you may start having some trouble finding it online. Apparently even Gamestop is now sold out of both SKUs of the console (Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target were previously sold out). Just keep checking, though, because the system randomly becomes available every now and then.
People are also saying you'll have better luck reserving in person at a Gamestop or Walmart, so you may want to try that.
Ok, thanks everyone! I'm a bit bummed about not being able to wait outside like old times, but I would rather play the console and game day one than wait outside for nothing. If I had the oppurtunity to pre order on amazon or gamestop, I would. But like I said, I already have $50 of my saved money in walmart gift cards, as well as $30 off from my mom's discount. So I will see if I can go pre order it sometime tomorrow. Thanks again!
